GOD FORBID DON’T WANT YOU TO “WALK ALONE,” BABY

Back in December, I commented that Vince Neilstein must be some kind of psychic, because he pretty much predicted that “War of Attrition” would be the first song off the album that the band released for public consumption; the flipside of that assertion was my own prediction that song “Walk Alone” would be the first song released, since it’s one of the more easily palatable tracks off the disc. I don’t mean that as a put down – it’s an awesome song. But it’s melodic, has some great clean vox by Dallas Coyle, a strong hook and catchy chorus, and is not, by the standards of some of the other songs on the album, the heaviest number in the world. In other words: from a commercial standpoint, it’s kind of a perfect single.
Well, now the band has released “Walk Alone,” which you can stream on the below widget (along with the already released “The Rain” and some non-Earthsblood tracks). Like I said, it’s a pretty melodic song, but it’ll also rock your face off. Check it out, then let us know what you think in the comments section.

Well, I like it, so I imagine that means every other Metalsucks commentor will hate it. But hell, I love the latest by AX7 and Trivium, so that makes me a pussy I guess.
They finally wrote a memorable chorus!! I am a fan of GF and my only complaint about them over the last couple records is that the choruses were meh for the most part. Looking to forward to the release.
I love the metal until they start vomiting into the mic. (Why is it that all the metal bands do that these days? Is there a “term” for these vocals or growling? Just wondering.) They aren’t going to have a voice left when they get to be 50! Maybe I’m just getting too old?!?
i like this song. Yea I can see why everyone hates how GF is evolving their sound, but I think its a solid song. How many different ways can the band write Gone Forever? In terms of sound progression, I would take the progress GF is doing than In Flames!
JC must not listen to much metal? And fuck yeah this song is great, I still can’t believe the number of idiots still clamoring that they don’t sound like they did on Reject the Sickness. Everyone is a cynic, are people fans of bands anymore?
Conduit, no I don’t and that is why. Most of the bands should stick to the instruments and scrap the vocals. IMO

love the song, it seems late january and february have all the good releases so far. Architects, Cannibal Corpse, Lamb of God and God Forbid. How much do new CDs cost in the US? Its like £10-12 here so around $16?

Aww barely a week has passed since the last kiss-ass GF post. I suppose that this is long overdue then. With less then a month until this album drops I can only venture to guess how many more posts will be made about them until that day, 2? 3? 15? In fact for my own savage amusement from this post on I’m going to keep a tally of how many overtly useless enema posts are made about the almighty METAL GODS that are God Forbid. Like i said in my last post strap on your seat belts kiddies the overdose of God Forbid has begun. I wonder what is next is metalsucks going to report what color socks the band wears each day or perhaps what type of cereal Dallas eats before each show..

Great band, great dudes, great song. I have loved everything they have done, and have enjoyed their progression. All the best to these guys.

JC….their is actually an art to screaming! There is a right way and a wrong way! You must use your diaphram just as if you were singing! They won’t lose their voice if they do it right! Screams add to the heaviness! It doesnt always need to be there but again, it adds to the overall feel of the song! Sometimes its just called for! Just look at it as another tool!

I am psyched though, I have been waiting for this record since I first heard they were back in the studio. And every teaser they have but out the past couple months has been freaking awesome.
No, it’s not reject the sickness…… I can’t think of even one band that sounds the same on album 4, 5, 6 as they did on album 1. That’s what being a musician is all about in my opinion. GF is one of the lucky ones to not suck this many albums later, you have to give them that!
Can’t wait for Earthsblood Day!
