HEY! DIDJA KNOW OPETH AND ENSLAVED ARE TOURING TOGETHER? DIDJA? DIDJA? HUH? DIDJA?

So many of you have e-mailed us this week to instruct us to post news about the fact that Opeth and Enslaved are touring together that I’m fairly certain posting news about the fact that Opeth and Enslaved are touring together is a complete waste of time; I mean, clearly, everyone and their mother is already aware of this tour.

I’m not saying this isn’t an awesome package – clearly, it is – I’m just saying, you’ve all sent us the news and the tour dates, so what can we tell you that you don’t already know? How about this: we will be at the show at the Starland Ballroom in NJ, and we will be high. Actually, you probably knew that already, too.

I’m putting tour dates after the jump, although I don’t for the life of me know why.

May 1 – Sayreville, NJ @ Starland Ballroom
May 2 – Boston, MA @ House of Blues Boston
May 3 – Montreal, QC @ Le Medley
May 4 – Toronto, ON @ Sound Academy
May 5 – Millvale, PA @ Mr. Small’s Place
May 6 – Chicago, IL @ House of Blues
May 8 – Omaha, NE @ Sokol Auditorium
May 9 – Boulder, CO @ Fox Theatre
May 11 – Boise, ID @ Knitting Factory Concert House
May 12 – Portland, OR @ Roseland Theatre
May 13 – Chico, CA @ Senator Theatre
May 14 – San Francisco, CA @ Regency Center
May 15 – Pomona, CA @ Glasshouse
May 16 – Los Angeles, CA @ The Avalon
May 17 – Tucson, AZ @ Rialto Theatre
May 19 – San Antonio, TX @ Scout Bar
May 20 – Oklahoma City, OK @ Diamond Ballroom
May 21 – Memphis, TN @ New Daisy Theatre
May 22 – Knoxville, TN @ Bijou Theatre
May 23 – Columbus, OH -@Newport Music Hall
May 24 – Pontiac, MI @ Clutch Cargo’s
May 26 – New York, NY @ Grand Ballroom
May 27 – Washington DC @ 9:30 Club

Also, in an effort to become death metal’s answer to Kiss, the Carcass reunion tour is somehow still going on. They’ll have a bunch of cool bands on all the dates, including Suicide Silence and Arsis; if you haven’t seen ‘em yet, I’d go buy my tickets right now… although something tells me this won’t be your last chance to see ‘em.

Also, Obituary are touring with Goatwhore, Krisiun, Berzerker and Warbringer.

Also, Suffocation are touring with Whitechapel, Decrepit Birth, Veil of Maya, and Psycroptic.

This concludes our needless reiteration of information you already knew.

Will be at Boise show, I’m so glad they canceled their previous US tour to rebook for this one. The other one wasn’t coming anywhere near me.

My wallet is wide open for the day tickets go on sale in February.

    @ Emily.

It’s good business.Opeth have become huge here in the past few years, and to be direct support to them is better for Enslaved. That way, when they decide to come back around, they can do a headlining tour that will carry much more weight.I’ll admit, it does suck if you’re not an Opeth fan, but what can ya do?You’re still getting to see Enslaved, and you’re not waiting any longer than you originally had to.It’s better than nothing, right?

And I’d like to wave the flag for Goatwhore.Perhaps I may actually go see them this time, unlike the 17 or so chances I had to see them while touring for A Haunted Curse, and missed them every single fucking time.Stupid me.
