FRED DURST’S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT WILL FINALLY SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY

Fred Durst’s first foray into the world of feature film making, The Education of Charlie Banks, played the Tribeca Film Festival here in NY to surprisingly strong reviews, but never got a theatrical (or even straight to DVD or cable) release. After The Longshots, Durst’s follow-up, opened to bad reviews and worse box office numbers this past summer, I kind of assumed Banks would never get a theatrical release. Looks like I was wrong: Anchor Bay will release the movie in theaters on March 27.

I know that certain long time readers think I rag on Durst too much, so I’m not gonna say anything about this. The poster is above, and if you’re interested, the trailer is after the jump. Enjoy. Or don’t. Whatever.

  • Fred dursts mum

Fred Durst’s music was always lame and so it seems are his movies, please please please please dont let the limp bizkit reunion actually happen. The last thing we need is him running around again making metal appear as stupid as possible.

I’m actually surprised to admit, but this doesn’t look too bad. When this comes out i will definitely give it a chance.

I heard on the radio that Limp Bizkit was reuniting for a tour with their original guitarist. HAHAHAHAH.

  • Rik

I don’t even have anything against Limp Bizkit, but since you seem to hate them so much, and since this is about a fucking movie, why the hell is this on the site? What on earth does this have to do with metal?

I wonder when he yells “Cut” if he yells it like “Cut, Yo!”

I wonder if he says, “Cut…Yo!”.

Oops. Had an error the first time and didn’t think it posted.

HAHAHA I can’t believe they’re actually releasing this. He’s been trying to make movies for a while now. About 8 or 9 years ago my dad, a freelance Production Designer, had an interview with Fred Durst at the shwanky hotel Durst was staying at here in NYC. Durst really wanted him to design his shitty movie, but it was a gangster flick so I guess this movie is different. Needless to say, no cameras ever rolled on that movie. Apparently he wore that ridiculous red hat to the interview.

I actually saw this movie and it’s really not too bad. Obviously it has a poor budget and a pretty weak script but it could have turned out a lot worse. To me, it only makes sense Durst would want to try a different field considering all the reaction his terrible band received. Prove to the world you’re more than an incredible businessman (you’re fooling yourself if you don’t think this) and an actual artist of some sort.

Axl, you’re just bein’ nice cuz the lead actor has “eisen” AND “berg” in his last name, you anti-Gentite.

  • The Joe

I didn’t realize it was possible to rag on Durst “too much.” I accidentally saw the Bizkit live once, my dick shrank 3 sizes that day.
