P.S. Glenn: What makes you think that Patton is the only one participating? Although, considering comments he made about an FNM reunion in 2007, it is surprising that he is verbally the most enthusiastic. At least from what we’ve heard.

I love the way Ipecac indirectly said it. I would be very surprised if Jim Martin joins them. I think of the people who have played guitar for Faith No More in the past Jon Hudson is most likely to play for them. For some reason I think if Trey Spruance is the going to be the guitarist there would be a Mr. Bungle reunion but that doesn’t seem to be happening.

I’m hoping they come to Australia but also I’m happy for FNM fans in Europe. Although I expect a live DVD and/or CD at the very least! Hehe.

Best was “Angel Dust” and THEN “King for a Day”. My personal opinion of course. I’d rather see Mr.Bungle, but I’ll take FNM any day. They better come to the US.

Best album was “King for a Day…”!? Insane! That’s the only FNM album I have never owned and have never cared to. Oddly enough I was just checking it out again via Amazon.com’s samples a few hours ago, and I still felt the same about it. Everything else they did I’m a big (if not HUGE) fan of, but that album… nope. To call that their best is just laughable to me.

As cool as it would be, Trey Spruance is probably never going to perform onstage with Patton again, let alone tour with FNM. He’s happy with Secret Chiefs 3 and I doubt he has any desire to reform Mr. Bungle.

Patton could release an album of Siberian rams passing solids on the windy tundra set to the demo song on a Casio LK30 and his fans would think it was the future of music as we know it.
Of course a reunion is all part of Patton’s big plan – anyone who ‘gets’ what Mike is about already knows this. It’s a statement about just how cool for school he can be. What a maverick.
It’s nothing to do with the money. And nothing to do with Jim Martin. And everything to do with wearing trucker hats when it meant something dangerous. What a man.

Why so bitter about Patton? Well why not? I used to be the drummer in Wolfmother.

I doubt we’ll get a new album out of this, but hopefully they’ll do an awesome job in Europe and come to the U.S. afterward.

Yeah, this whole thing makes me wonder how long is it going to last? Patton has a bunch of other stuff hes working on and this doesnt seem to be his idea. Still, this is good news.

I think Patton just wants this to be fun. Not like he’s doing it to cash in (though I’m sure he wouldn’t turn down the money), rather it’ll be a change of pace & a return to straightforward rock. Just one man’s guess. I’m stoked.
