MEET US IN ATLANTER

Friday, February 27th, 2009 at 4:00pm by Vince Neilstein

scion rock fest atlanta ticketsSeveral of you have emailed us inquiring about a possible meetup at tomorrow’s Scion Rock Fest in Atlanta… but what would be the fun in that? So let’s do it this way instead: we’ll be there, you find us. I have a full beard, Axl has a chin-strip beard and a goatee. I’ll be wearing a green hoodie, and if I were a betting man I’d say Axl will be wearing a black one. We look very Jewish, and strikingly similar to our South Park avatars (+ beard for me). We’ll be hanging with Rob from Metal Injection, and ya’ll know what he looks like. Ask around, and ye shall find us.

See you there!

I’ll be the “emo” kid having an orgasm over 1349.

So naturally, I’ll probably only be able to wave to you guys as I’m being shunned away by the metal community

  2. Mark from Columbia says:

MS is part of the internet lifesblood that sustains me here at work. I work and school full time and thus have no friends, so naturally I will be looking for you guys.

  3. ceth says:

I have a sneaking suspicion that the description you gave with different variations on the hoodie will fit a large number of the Dudes in that crowd tomorrow…..I’ll look for ya anyways. Gotta make that long 2.5 hour drive in the morning….of course i am sure that short little drive sounds great compared to your trip. Hope ya have fun with us down here in the Southland.

  4. Brutal Jay says:

You know what’s annoying? I live close enough to Atlanta to go but there’s no way I’d be able to get money in time. >_<

  5. lainad says:

I hate you all. Please post pics!

  6. Stoe says:

To brutal jay, its free man, just get there early.

  7. Metal Martyr says:

I had all intentions of going, but I have to get the fuck out of NC and move back to Upstate NY so I have to save some cash. Even though the event is free gas isn’t and neither is lunch and T’s and shit.

  8. Bill says:

I wish I had the cash to get down there. But the band I wanted to see, Nachtmystium, isn’t playing anymore, so maybe it isn’t all bad.

  9. Matt says:

I’ll fucking see ya’ll there tomorrow. Can’t fucking wait. I’m tempted to drive up there right now and camp out

  10. ceth says:

just as an FYI to those that picked your tickets up and didnt get this, I received this amail from Scion Rock Fest a couple days ago, this is the header to it…..

Attention Scion Rock Fest Ticket Holders:

If you picked up a ticket from one of the retail locations and have a
hard ticket in-hand, you will be able to get into the event as long as
you arrive at noon when doors open at:

Looks like those of us that picked tickets up ahead of time have a better chacne of getting in than the will call folks.

  11. Elpants says:

All you Nazis missing out on some Nachtmystium.

  12. matt says:

Just got home from the Fest. What a fucking day man! The best concert experience ever…by far. The best things in life are truly free

  13. Daniel says:

Just got back. Didn’t see any MS Jews. Probably smokin up with the bands backstage while us peons got pushed around by the staff.

  14. Molti says:

If I lived anywhere near there I would totally show up and ask if I could have your babies.
    But alas, I do not.

  15. Matt says:

I looked for you guys, but too many people here in Atlanta look like people from South Park. I don’t know if you knew that about this city.

  16. matt(not the one above me) says:

Did you enjoy the “Guide to Atlanta” program? As a native Atlanta I found it fucking hilarious. I’m too much of a pussy to go to the Claremont Lounge, but I did hit up Waffle House afterwards. It was yummy!

  17. ceth says:

Really great show but i think it was almost to many bands for the set up….was a real pain in the ass after thalf the day when they decided it was time to enforce fire code capacity and wouldnt let people to the inside entrances through the back entrance…..But with that said i spent most of my time on the outdoor stage anyways and I found out that High On Fire truly is bad ass and Mastodon reallr aye the best thing going…..and on the inside, if you havent checked out Tyr, go do it. That was one of the most entertaining bands I watched all day long. Over all it was a pretty damn cool place and I was realy really surprised at the fact that Scion really did not do much pimping of their products at all. If it wasnt for some Scion lights shining on the roof of the outdoor stage you could barely tell they had anything to do with it, i expected to have their brand shoved in my face all day.

  18. ceth says:

and yes, i realize that my typing is completely horrible in that post and I feel like a complete ass! Stillgroggy from the ride back.

  19. Daniel says:

    @ceth

I thought Tyr was kind of boring. They played good, it just wasn’t as entertaining as it should have been. Alestorm had a way better show. But I did notice Bowes from Alestorm hanging out watching the Tyr show, so that was pretty badass.

  20. ceth says:

I thought Tyr did pretty good considering that little bity tiny miniscule stage area they had to deal with. That stage was way hard to watch any bands on unless your were in the very first row of people, would like to have seen them on one of the bigger stages. Did you by chance see Evil Army? I thought the sound during their show was terrible, seemed like the acoustics in that room just werent good ro they were trying to run it to loud or something.

  21. Daniel says:

I caught the ass end of their show. Not enough to garner an impression. Trash Talk was fucking crazy though.

  22. ceth says:

didnt catch trash talk…….but one of the highlights of my whole day was walking out past the merch booth and seeing some guys from the U.S. Christmas camp standing by the merch booth just going off and taking their merchandise down because they were completely pissed that the venue was taking a 20% cut of all merch sales and they were mad as hell about it having to charge more for the stuff due to such a large chunk coming off the top. The guy doing the rant was PISSSED about it…was rather fun to watch and cool to see someone saying fuck it, your not getting any of our money. And one more thing, why is it that at shows like this there are so many people that feel it’s ok to go around smelling like homeless people that have not seen showers or baths in many moons? Bad smells all around at these big shows. but again..all hail High On Fire and Mastodon…even though Mastodon stole a big chunk of my hearing last night. And not to worry…Mastodons new love for classic rock type stuff is still pretty heavy and amazing.

  23. Daniel says:

I don’t they’ve yet invented a deodorant that can outlast a 12 hour metal show. Unless you count pressing your armpits into a flat iron.

  24. TXn says:

I drove from Texas and didn’t catch this…just wanted to say THANKS! for the ticket contest.
Especially Neil who really helped me when I had trouble getting the tickets to my Apartment.

Anyways, that was one of the best days of my life
    METAL SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
