Those Who Caress The Pale is awsome. I much prefer it to Written In Waters. I don't know but WiW doesn't vibe with me as well as TWCtP. TWCtP will be on my Mp3 players forever.. one of the best black metal albums/ep's of all time IMO. Plus it has Skoll on bass and he was one of the best black metal bassists IMO. Too bad he disappeared. VBE doesn't get enough recognition and it's great to see a metal "blog" mention them for once. I get bored of most metal blogs *cough* blabbermouth *cough* but I keep coming back to MetalSucks since I found it. Keep up the good work guys.

VBE is definitely a strange hidden jewel most people unfortunately haven't dug up out of the weird black earth. I've always felt Written in Waters to be one of the most important albums in metal, and possibly the best album from the mid 90's Norwegian scene. There are many unique bands/albums in the world, but very few that are unique and AWESOME. And though Virus is certainly a beast with different fur, feathers, and teeth, the same sandy curdled blood runs through its veins. For me, The Black Flux was the best album of 2008 and I found myself listening to it almost every day as I traveled through Bolivia this winter - somehow it resonated perfectly with everything from the high Andes and stark high-elevation desert down through the thick cloud forest and into the sweltering buggy Amazon. Best travel companion I've had in a while.

Written In Waters is some serious piece of art !
It was released in 1995 and still it's fresh, modern and absolutely breathtaking.
It's too bad that the original pressing of this album goes above 20$ at ebay.
