I DEFY YOU NOT TO ROCK OUT TO CRESCENT SHIELD’S “LIFESPAN”

Monday, March 9th, 2009 at 5:00pm by

Hot on the heels of the news that Crescent Shield are getting ready to release their sophmore album, The Stars of Never Seen, comes our fist taste of new music from said offering: a song entitled “Lifespan” is streaming here.

And it ROCKS. It makes me wish I were drunk and holding both hands in the air, trying desperately to clap in time with the beat despite my intoxication, and failing miserably but not really giving a shit because I am just too preoccupied with my rocking.

I’m saying it’s a good song.

Like I said, check out the song here. Crescent Sheild’s The Stars of Never Seen will be out on May 8 in Germany and Europe, May 11 in the UK and June 2 in the USA and Canada.

I was getting all excited when it started…then the vocals came in like explosive diarrhea .

*goes back to listening to Slough Feg*

This band is really great. First listened to them when I saw the last Crescent Shield entry on MetalSucks.net. I can’t wait for the new album!

    Next!

  • Polska

    *double hurls*

  • Sammy

Well Axie, you defied me. You just had to defy me. The band sucked the last time I listened and they still suck. Iron Maiden, my ass!

  • Anthony

I’ll defend them even if the vocals take a long time to get used too. They remind me of Maiden with Blayze Bailey — the music is great but the vocals leave a lot to be desired.

  • lunkavitch

Does anyone else think this cover looks like a five-year-old traced No World for Tomorrow?

  • http://www.formulafiction.com Dr Tizzle

no, it’s not a good song

  • I

It would be tolorable if they were an instrumental band. But then I imagine that would just get boring. So no sir, I don’t like it.

  • xCOOCOOKALx

Yikes! The future of “real” metal my ass. Horrible.

  • tyler09

    that…was…pretty good

  • HAHA

Man this band lacks creativity and everything that has to do with metal.
    Iron Maiden?????AHAHHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHA
like Sammy said “Iron Maiden, my ass!”

Hearing this guy sing made me appreciate ZP Theart from DragonForce, and that’s not easy to do. It was almost completely unlistenable. According to a review posted on their website, “Michael Grant’s vocal range is simply breathtaking”. Now I haven’t listened to much of their stuff but from what I’ve heard, Mr. Grant is hardly Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, or even ZP Theart. The album artwork is what you’d imagine seeing on the cover of a Coheed and Cambria record if you’d never seen one before…but Coheed always put out decent looking albums in my opinion (looking at Lunkavitch I see we share the same opinion, haha nice cuz I hadn’t even read that post when I typed it).

If I’m going to listen to someone try to reenact the NWOBHM, it’s going to be 3 Inches Of Blood.

I downloaded the track The Last Of My Kind with the advertising voiceover off their website and was hoping the voiceover guy would stay on as permanent vocalist

  • Carter

Ugh. Really? I hate this kind of “Metal”.

  • Sean

Definitely did not rock out to this, the singer’s voice is not easy to listen to and the music itself sounded like something I’d hear on some local band iron maiden clone wannabes from the late 80s

  • herojoe

I could sing better than this guy.

  • dthrasher

I think this is the first post I’ve seen with over 15 posts where 99% of the people agree.

  • Hassman

Wow, it started out so good. I’m going to agree with (almost) everyone, the vocals are horrible.

  • iolanach

Skunk Anansie, Killswitch, this shit…you’ve got great taste Axl!

  • Kevin

    Pretty Bold Axl, Pretty Bold
