Pretty much true….although I think the cover of Sabbath’s debut fit the mood of the music perfectly. You have to take into account that it was intended to be viewed in a 12×12 format and there are things you might naturally overlook when it’s shrunk down to CD size.

Awesome cover. Black Sabbath has a history of godawful covers, but this one looks like it’s breaking the trend.

Actually, now that I think of it, the only Sabbath covers that weren’t terrible were the Dio ones. Heaven and Hell was good, Mob Rules was their best one up till this one, Dehumanizer was average but good by their standards, and this ones sweet.

It is very true that an album cover can be very misleading, although that never stopped me in my youth from buying albums based strictly on the criteria that they looked cool and/or would make my mother cringe (anything with art by Pushead was a must-have). On more than a few occasions the music matched the cover to my delight..ST’s “Join The Army”, Samhain “Initium” AND “November Coming Fire” etc…
I guess an example of the opposite would be Frank Frazetta’s “Death Dealer” on a Molly Hatchet cover…a totally metal cover for a boogie-rock album.

Cool cover, I just hope the band can pull it all together to make one final heavy as fuck album before they all get oldtimers and forget how to. I mean they fucking created the heavy, so why can’t they up the ante for the rest of the younger bands and show em how it is done. At the very least they took a big chance with the antireligious imagery of their cover. I doubt we will be seeing an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart, thankfuly.

Amazing album art, but I probably won’t give two shits about the actual album. I’m not a young whipper snapper, but Dio was never my thing, and I doubt this album will be very “hard,” instead just a rehashing of Black Sabbath and Dio.

You can’t trust an album by it’s advertising. I can show you great bands with horrid album art, and vice versa.

Speaking of raping the neighbor’s cat, I have a story about that very scenario.

I know a guy who’s from a small town in a state in the midwest. Well, his little brother told him about this. Apparently, one of the kids in this friend’s little brother’s class was a little weird (about 7th grade, I think). So, I guess that this weird kid picked up a cat one day, and looked at it, and decided that he was gonna have sex with it. He waited until he was alone in his house, and took the cat, and stuck it in the cat’s pooper. Well, the cat wasn’t really expecting this, so it tightened up its sphincter muscles mighty fierce. Unfortunately, the cat tightened its butt up so tight that the kid couldn’t get his dick out. So, he sat there for I don’t know how long, until he could go to his mom and somehow communicate the idea that he had a cat stuck on his dick and he needed to get it off. They went to the hospital, and get this, they had to kill the cat in order to get it off.

To sum up: weird kid rapes a cat, cat squeezes its butthole shut, kid goes to hospital, they kill the cat to get it off. About half the people in the room when the story was told were so disgusted they couldn’t speak, and the other half laughed. I laughed so fucking hard I thought I was gonna die.
