Enslaved, Sigh and countless other bands were doing that shit a decade ago, and much more convincingly. They 'couldn't complete the Opeth tour'?? Fair enough. But, honestly, great music has been made by card-carrying, true believing Nazis. And I'm not even talking rock music. Maybe you've heard of a little composer named Richard Wagner? Carl Orff? Richard Strauss? Hell, Richard Strauss was commissioned by the Reichsmusikammer to de-Jew popular works by Jewish composers like Mendelssohn. He refused and Carl Orff picked it up for him. You know, Carl Orff? The guy whose "O Fortuna" is used in the trailer of just about every action movie, ever? Seriously, THEY PLAY RICHARD WAGNER'S MUSIC IN THE ISRAELI PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA! THE GUY WHO INSPIRED ADOLF HITLER, PLAYED BY THE ISRAELI PHILHARMONIC! If that's not proof that the music means more than the men behind it, I don't know what is. So I guess my point is: Who gives a shit? They're a really good band. If the possibility that you're supporting a Nazi band makes you uncomfortable, download the CDs and don't go to the shows. And seriously, what black metal band HIDES the fact that they are Nazis? Even the black metal bands that AREN'T Nazis have CDs with titles like "Go Fuck Your Jewish God", so it's not like Nachtmystium has a lot to gain by pretending to not be National Socialists. Or maybe I'm completely full of shit.
