i heard that its called killswitch engage (self-titled) but they already released an album with that name (when Jesse was vocalist). But you never know.
Why can’t they release it any earlier? I hope they play new songs on the upcoming tour!

This should be good *knocks on wood* As Daylight Dies had some great tracks, but nothing compared to their previous works
as a killswitch fan with no shame, this album will be make or break for the band. daylight dies was an obvious step back after the previous two awesome records. crossing my fingers…
I like Killswitch when they’re good. I just wish they’d break the formula they’ve used on EVERY FUCKING song from the past two albums. “Hey I know guys, how about we NOT go scream verse/clean chorus this time. How about we do a clean verse/scream chorus?!”

Yea their formula starting to get old (you can tell on their last album), but if you have to pick a band that king of metalcore, its KSE hands down!

I think they recognize the metalcore formula has been beat to a pulp and they need to do something new. Perhaps this is wishful thinking, but I think these guys have the talent to do something special again. We’ll see. I am also looking forward to hearing Adam’s project with Jesse that should also be out this summer. Alive or Just breathing still makes my balls tingle.

Wow. What a large and diverse vocabulary. So glad I could have my IQ drop a couple points by reading an absolutely unnecessary comment. Whether you like em or not, it must be recognized that they are the Kings of Metalcore, and as such, one of the most influential bands of our time. It’s true. How many people have copied them? They helped define the sound of metal for this decade. And anyone who says that Howard Jones, a vocalist that has such a huge range and actually sounds good throughout that range, is a shitty vocalist, is insecure about certain inadequacies. “Shitty metalcore band”? They are metalcore. But yeah, I gotta agree, this album could make or break ‘em.
whats so funny about what you said is they are ‘the’ metalcore band… this is true. they are the only actually ‘metalcore’ band around… everyone else moved on when killswitch made their third album (the first one that got radio play)… and the one radio hit made everyone think they were gods. The End of Heartache was a brilliant song… right when we needed one. but that ended immediately. no success they have ever had since has measured up to that… except for in the eyes of a few… what happened was we realized there were great bands out there after all. and they were all better. most of them were the inspiration for killswitch. bands like soilwork and darkest hour. Maybe one day we will reognize killswitch engage as the ‘pop metal’ masters they are.
I love all 3 albums they’ve already put out and I expect there will be more greatness on June 23.

Intuition says this album will be 100% cheesy choruses designed to draw in 14-year-old scene girls and people who are still listening to Godsmack. Consider my interest in this band lost.

OK, usually I don’t argue with people about personal preferences, but there is no doubt in my mind that Mikael Akerfeldt and Warrel Dane are better singers than Howard Jones. I’m not saying Howard is a horrible singer, but don’t sound like a tool and say he is “the voice in metal today.”

I’m very excited for this album. however i agree that it needs to be a little different and hopefully better than daylight dies. i wouldnt worry tho. Obrien is a kickass producer who succeeded with STP, ACDC, PEARL JAM, AND RAGE! those are some badass bands if you ask me. so yes it will most likely be different if thats what yall are wantin so bad. but in this case different will most definitely be a good thing.
KsE will own as long as Adam D is there. I’ll love em in any situation. Therefore .. agree with Krawl. x)
I don’t know how people can say that they use the exact same formula every single album. Sure, they do the whole sing/scream variation, but that doesn’t mean that every song/album sounds the same. In my opinion, “As Daylight Dies” sounds quite a bit different than “The End of Heartache” and I personally liked it a bit more than “The End of Heartache”. It seems like they brought a few more elements into the mix (some southern riffs and even some 80’s metal inspired riffs on the bonus tracks). Yes, “As Daylight Dies” was more melodic and utilized quite a bit more singing, but that’s great when you’ve got a vocalist who can actually sing. Like it or not, Howard has got some pipes and while he may not be the best vocalist out there, he’s still better than the majority of metal vocalists I’ve heard. From a purely musical perspective, his voice is more controlled and classically trained than Jesse Leach’s (Jesse has even admitted to this). That being said, I don’t like either vocalist more than the other. Jesse did have quite a bit more raw energy/passion in his voice and I do think he was a much better lyricist. All in all, I think Killswitch Engage was a bit more brutal and technical in their earlier material, but developed better songwriting in their newer material. I’ve only heard a live recording of one of their new songs from the upcoming album, but it sounds like it’s going to be pretty great. No matter what, I’m convinced it will be much better than a lot of music coming out lately.

KSE in metalcore is like GIAA in Post-rock-They both rule the genre. I trust them 100%. Feel can’t go wrong. :D
KSE is meh, i guess a new alb um will keep their fanbase, i can tell you this song is like hmmm… just too monotonous, the drums and guitars anywho, and the vocals really dont go with those riffs, maybe its b/c its live tho. So yeh, not too excited but im expecting some breakdowns… if kse adapted some of Parkway Drives shit oh my fukn god man kse would be fucking sick

Killswitch is the shitt havent heard anything else in a 5 years or more that so good and brilliant as kse .Dudes they are the best band in the world for me now .I cant see anybody outstaging them .Omg their new album is fucking cool .Every track is awesome .Shitt the return is a master piece.KSE for LIfe.
