Let’s cut right to the quick: Noise Creep is streaming “Bible Black,” the new single from the artists formerly known as Black Sabbath . It comes off their new album, The Devil You Know, and I really don’t have much to say about it, other than it rocks every bit as much as I hoped it would. Listen to it now and see if you agree.

The Devil You Know drops April 28.

  1. Sammy says:

The intro has a dubious, “heard that before from Dio-fronted bands” sound to it, but it gets to rocking. I could do without the little bit of synth in the background, however.

  2. CarlosRamirez says:

I’m just glad Ozzy is singing on this track. He would ruin it.

  3. carter says:

Dio can eat a dick. this sounds just like all his other shitty songs. lyrics about dumb shit, sung at high pitch with power chords. awesome. id rather listen to brokencyde.

  4. \m/Eluveitie\m/ says:

Herbert from Family Guy should cover this song

  5. myke says:

would be this be a sin to call this black sabbath?? damn iommi’s guitar has a heavy fucking crunch to it. i’m digging this.

  6. mahkiavelli says:

Ozzy doesn’t have shit on this. This is way more vital sounding than anything he’s put out since “No More Tears”. Heaven and Hell? It sounds like Sabbath to me…. \m/

  7. Mike says:

Damn, do I love this song, much better than I expected. And holy crap is that guitar heavy, blows bands like Lamb of God out of the water, easily.

  8. Revrant says:

I’m just glad Ozzy is singing on this track.* Fixed, it’s nice to dream, isn’t it? I’m glad Ozzy isn’t singing this track, Dio’s goofy as hell lyrics and pitch have ruined countless otherwise good songs.

carter sums my view up pretty well, however Tony is in spectacular form, it’s just a shame that this is wasted on Dio, he sounds like he’s heaving throughout the song, and it’s particularly noticeable due to the aforementioned trademark Dio pitch.

  9. Hardcore Midget says:

I can get why people might not like Dio’s voice.

But personally, I LOVE the way his voice fits in with the rest of the band.
I had pretty high hopes for a new H&H record after those three songs they recorded a few years ago. And if this one song is any indication, I won’t be disappointed.

Goddamn that guitar tone sounds great.

  10. DanyLektro says:

This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve heard from all of the 2000s..

  11. Aaron says:

Say what you will about Dio, I like him and others don’t and none of us will be changing opinions anytime soon, but man you gotta at least give the music credit. We’re damn lucky to still be able to see the true grandfathers of the genre doing it and doing it fucking incredibly.

If any of us manage to rock half this hard in our 60’s we’ll have something to be proud of.

  12. Revrant says:

Yeah Aaron, great sentiments there, but these guy minus Dio are the fathers of the genre, not the godfathers, and it is great they’re still doing it.

  13. Revrant says:

Or grandfathers, I was thinking of Ozzy, he’s often called the godfather of the genre.

  14. Aaron says:

Well we’re at least a couple of generations in since they invented them all so that’s where my grand was coming from. I meant it with nothing with respect for the men who made metal before it had a name, believe me.

  15. Anthony says:

    This track is pure win.

  16. Selaphiel says:

Bible Black? Like the anime porno? Is the song about school girls getting raped by their magic using dick-girl school nurse? Because that would be pretty fucking metal.

  17. TV-E5150 says:

    @ carter,,,

Do you really think Iommi could use any shitty fuckin’ powerchords??

  18. fucknut says:

Awsome song, and just look at that cover.Very reminiscent of Celtic Frost’s ”To Mega Therion”.

  19. dthrasher says:

It’s a decent song, but the super-production kind of takes some of the life out of it.

  20. Aaron says:

    @Selaphiel

See the first thing that came to my mind was the incredible song by King Crimson because I’m not a pathetic anime loving retard.

  21. Mark says:

Miles beyond any all-chords-cookie-monster “Metal” crap that will release this year.

Album will be a 10, not much argument about Iommi being at or near the top of the guitarists list. Great to hear new stuff. Like 2008, put me down for 3 shows at least near the front row.
