DLR for sure hahaha you guys have an add for dope ftl
F#$# that sammy pwns, id much rather get drunk with him and smoke a doobie than stick around and be with a prick that is DLR.
ever been to cabo to meet the dude? awesome guy!
Halen I guess, wait, can you still say Gary Cherone if you don’t know who he is?
I like Sammy Hagar as a person better but as a band, Van Hagar sucked ass, especially all those terrible ballads and the gay stage antics.
Mike: Are we talking Rammstein giant white-goo-filled doggystyle dildo gay stage antics or “lame” stage antics?
Well definitely DLR’s music was the best. And even thou Sammy had some good tunes.. I actually briefly met Diamond Dave at the Troubadour.. I was bellied up to the bad. And sitting next to a guy in a hat and trench coat and sunglass’s. And I didnt even really pay attention until he ordered a drink and I heard that voice… definetly DAVE. I was pretty young at the time and was pretty stoked at this discovery. So as a knee jerk re action I shouted out DAVID LEE ROTH!@! And this got the attention of the whole bad to his displeasure. So sadly he was not as stoked to meet me. I guess I understand now. However it has always stuck in my head he is kind of a dick? Even is his reaction was somewhat justified? So whatever still think the old tunes just rock MUCH more then the new ones.. The new stuff however good.. Is just kinda boring.
oops that should have read bellied up to the BAR.. My bad…
At least with DLR there was a pretty good portion where Eddie played guitar!
I think VH’s music with Roth is more fun, dangerous, charming, and in keeping with the spirit of rock’n'roll. Not to say the Hagar albums are bad, but they always seemed a bit more “adult contemporary” (i.e. stuff for stuffy old grownups).
As far as personality, I agree that Sammy, being more laid back, would probably be cooler to hang with. Roth seems like a really high maintanence kind of person. But, you never know.
Wait, you have the power to ban people?! There are about 152 new commentors who need to be banned.
Agree with the just about everyone up there. Hagar: cooler. DLR: better and more Eddie.
DLR. Nobody’s interested in a Sammy vocals only track.
GoddammitbabyyouknowIain’tlyin’toya, I’monlygonnatellyouonetimeayyyyyyyyyyahhhahhh!
Sammy: Yeah they do, there was this racist douche some time back, banned him.
OH YEEEEEEAH!!!!
UUUUUUUUH-HUh!!!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!
AAAAAH-HAH!!!!
nuff said.
I have more respect for Sammy Hagar because he’s chill and doesn’t get caught up in all of the petty little fights. He’s the only one who actually SHOWED UP when they got inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
What about the SECOND person to say Gary Sharone?
What about the first person to say Gil Sharone?
Ben W.; Are you by any chance Ben Weinman, AKA The Sweetest Dude In Metal Today (besides Greg..) And BTW; I GOT IT BAAAD GOT IT BAAAD GOT IT BAAAD! IM HOT FOR TEACHER! ‘Nuff said. DLR ftw.
No contest – It would be more of one if Van Hagar had some decent songs.
On an eight hour roadtrip, I had all of Van Halen’s Catalog queued up on my ipod. I quickly tired of the Van Hagar material…although the last couple of CD’s were better, they do not stand up to the DLR era of Van Halen.
DLR, because Pepsi clear sucked a whales vagina.fuck u van hagar.
DLR without a doubt, I still listen to those cds on occasion. Hagar might be cool in person, but that doesn’t mean his music was any good.
4 words: David Lee Roth soundboard. Enough said.
van halen, with DLR, by miles.
although, 5150 is absolutely excellent.
*shrug*
I enjoy both.
Van Roth songs were a little more raw and energetic. But Eddie’s playing only got MORE creative and interesting during Van Hagar. I absolutely love some of the riffs on 5150, OU812 and F.U.C.K.
Even “Amsterdam” from Balance has some pretty badass guitar playing even though the lyrics are stupid (“wham-bam, Amsterdam, yeah-yeah-yeah…”)
That’s not to say that Roth’s lyrics couldn’t be stupid too. And the Van Roth albums all sounded like crap because Ted Templeman was such a Roth sycophant and mixed the songs how Roth wanted them.
SAMMY HAGAR of course, He way rocked with Van Hagar;
