KIRK HAMMETT ON SLAYER

Everything about this makes me giggle. I mean, when he throws those lil’ horns and corrects “Satanic” to be “Slaytanic,” it’s hard to believe this fella was in Exodus once upon a time. It’s like listening to my dad try to talk about Slayer.

  • Coonsan

He almost sounds longing, like he wished that Metallica still had aggression.

Th comparison between Slayer fans and Metallica fans reminds me of the mindless banter usually reserved for That Metal Show

  • DanyLektro

One thing I notice about Kirk is he’s sort of like a kid that never grew up. I found this one video of him ogling over Hendrix’s guitar, asking the curator about it or whoever was there.
“Can I play it on stage tomorrow?”
    “Sure”
“ALRIGHT! …….Can.. can I set it on fire?”

  • JVSTIN

    He’s funny.

    Oh My God!

That was friggin adorable, the part where he throws the horns, says it all about the difference between a Metallica fan and a Slayer fan.

Hammett being kind of girly is really nothing new. He’s always been that way. He’s always seemed the most out of place in that band.

  • damienk

Sorry, but i will always like Kirk, I totally agree he always seemed like the odd man out. But that was a good thing for the band… now if he’d just throw his fucking wah pedal away.

  • Blackthorned

He seems like a consistently nice guy – and for the band he’s probably the warm water needed between the snare fire and riff ice.

  • Fritz!

DanyLektro: I know!! Kirk Hammet – The Michael Jackson of metal, just without all the kids and stuff.

I’d love to rip on this vid going for a “douche of the year”-esque comment but Kirk is about the only member of Metallica with any integrity left.

  • Kevin French

I thought the same thing as what Coonsan said in the first reply. I seemed to get a little far-off like he was reminiscing about all the times his band failed to do that.
