CAVE IN MAKE BABIES CRY

Holy motherfuck was this band good. And for the love of jeebus, Jupiter was a great fucking album! If you disagree, you’re a ninny. Riffs this big don’t just write themselves, after all.

If anyone were to ever ask me what my favorite albums of the 21st Century were, Jupiter would surely be near the top of it. Hmmm.

Watch the Bostonians slay live in Baltimore in 2004.

Didn’t we just read the same comment in the Scar Symmetry piece?

“I love this band. If you don’t, you’re a ree-ree. Songs this good don’t just write themselves”

    C’mon now

I saw them on this tour at the Metronome in Burlington, VT in front of about 50 people, and they destroyed. They played only 3 songs from Antenna (the first 3 on the album, which are the 3 best, IMO), 4 from Jupiter, and closed out with “Juggernaut”. Also they previewed 2 brand new (at the time) songs, “Off to Ruin” and “Trepanning,” both which kicked ass. I miss Cave In.

That’s awesome… I love it when that happens!

Jupiter is definitely an under-appreciated album. I’ve lost days wandering inside of that one…

Cave in is so damned good. Brutally heavy with amazing melodic stuff intertwined. I really respect this band and they are all great musicians. I saw these guys in San Diego when I lived there 3 or 4 years back and they played a instore at a little record store there. Their music brought tears to our eyes and affected us emotionally on a level that few bands reach. Yob brings a tear to my eye everytime I hear Quantum Mystic as well. Much love and respect to Cave In.
