A lot of you have been e-mailing us about the rumors that Dallas Coyle has quit God Forbid.

As huge God Forbid fans ourselves, we understand your desire to know what the situation is ASAP. At this time, we do not know any more than you do. We trust that there will be a statement clarifying the situation in good time. In any case, when we know more, you will.

I really don’t think it’s anything serious…. he did mention that he had a kid around the release of Earthsblood… so I really don’t blame him if he would want to be home right now…

Hoping for the best at least…

  2. cink says:

I hope he doesnt quit the band. Fuck that would really suck. I love Dallas! in the platonic way…

  3. CarlosRamirez says:

    Maybe he’ll join Arsis.

  4. Muzikwhore says:

eh…. how many ppl really care??…. SERIOUSLY??

  5. bondedbybud says:

I agree with muzik, who cares? Though if he did leave the band to me that would be the best news in the entire last decade! Well aside from Exodus reforming..

  6. billybob says:

    Thanks for posting.

  7. Me says:

who cares? how about the people who would like to see them on tour this spring/summer and who have invested a lot of time in listening to their music? not to mention the hopes for future music. don’t post if you don’t care. that’s just reinforcing the fact that you don’t have anything better to do. I care about God Forbid, so my cost-benefit analysis says I should post… oh whoops this is the Internet, guess I should say something like EAT A d*cK!

  8. cougar party says:

There is the possibility that it is a April Fools joke since April 1st is right around the corner. It would be really bad timing to quit the band since they just released a well received album and have a big tour coming up

  9. Dave says:

Yeh he had a kid and I know he removed his Facebook profile too after he said someone hacked his account..Hope it is just a rumor.

  10. Scott says:

    LMAO @ Carlos!

  11. CarlosRamirez says:

Thanks for noticing the cheap joke Scott!

  12. DemonicLemming says:

After all the hype and shit around the release of the new album and the talk of the whole “band family” thing, it would be a little strange.

  13. \m/Eluveitie\m/ says:

Reading through the story where Doc Coyle responded to criticism…it sounded like there may have been some tension between the guys in God Forbid

  14. \m/Eluveitie\m/ says:

Statements like the following seem to suggest that everything is not smooth sailing in the God Forbid camp. While any band has its share of disagreements, there does seem to be some hostility in Doc’s comments that could mean something more serious brewing below the surface that caused Dallas to split.

“On Metalsucks, my blogger brother, Dallas, has had the monopoly on providing that perspective in regards to God Forbid, which I think is unfortunate because I think it provides an inaccurate picture of the band’s collective or individual views”

“The only effect Dallas’s commentary would have is to make some people who would normally be allies into adversaries”

“Dallas may have mentioned this before, but the band confronted him about his blog after the first one where he called Hilary Clinton a nigger”

  15. \m/Eluveitie\m/ says:

Some words from Dallas from the Open Letter To Light This City story…

“Trust me, we’ve had issues. I’ve wanted to quit so many times but I didn’t because something or the other kept me there and I never regretted staying. I’ve always thought about if I had made the decision to quit. I would’ve regretted that decision more than anything”

  16. Dave D says:

“On Metalsucks, my blogger brother, Dallas, has had the monopoly on providing that perspective in regards to God Forbid, which I think is unfortunate because I think it provides an inaccurate picture of the band’s collective or individual views”

“The only effect Dallas’s commentary would have is to make some people who would normally be allies into adversaries”

“Dallas may have mentioned this before, but the band confronted him about his blog after the first one where he called Hilary Clinton a nigger”

-Anyone else see the gigantic amount of irony that would occur if the reason God Forbid’s been having all these issues is because of the fact that Metalsucks (a site that obviously LOVES this band) featured a blog from Dallas?

This is most likely not gonna happen, but if it did it’d be pretty ironic.

  17. \m/Eluveitie\m/ says:

And if we start asking “how many people really care?”, we can do away with 80% of the stories on this website

  18. Cavorka says:

    Man, that would suck!

BTW: Don’t listen to bondedbybud, I’m pretty sure he is some angry 14 year old who thinks he’s cool because he downloaded ‘War Is My Shepherd’ once….and I bet he was still in his ‘SlipKnoT iS TEH beSt DeaTh MettUl bhand EVA!!! MAgg0ts 4 lif e’ fase during the time Exodus reformed.

  19. TMR says:

I sense an april fools joke

“Axl, Vince, and Everyone at MetalSucks” I dont know why but that right there gives me the feeling that something is wrong… or maybe its because I’m extremely stoned right now … meh

(starts streaming South Park) Thats A BAD KITTTY !!!
