MORE AWESOME LIVE FOOTAGE OF CONVERGE
Thursday, April 2nd, 2009 at 2:00pm by Axl RosenbergOur bro-bros at Metal Injection continue to post, piece by piece, Converge’s entire set live set from Brooklyn’s Club Europa show last week. Now they have the epic “The Saddest Day,” one of my favorite cuts from 1998’s Petitioning the Empty Sky, an excellent record that I think too many people forget about ’cause it’s from the pre-Jane Doe era (and, let’s face it, there are differences between Converge B.J.D. and A.J.D.).
You will enjoy this…
Don’t forget that you can watch, in their entirety, two new, still-untitled Converge songs here, and that Metal Injection will continue to post footage from this concert, so check back there frequently!

I thought it was funny when people complained about some of the melodious direction No Heroes took. They’ve always had an element of melodic-ness (yes even Jane Doe has plenty) but everyone ought to take a look at what they started out as. Before Jake’s voice was refined you’ll find tons and tons of melody and clean vocal tones.
Can’t wait for this! I’ve heard Oct/Nov, anyone heard any different?
this will definitely be in contention with Mastodon for record of the year
i hate to be “that dude” but this band can do no wrong.
ever.
better than god forbid!
maybe i’m nitpicking, but anyone who refers to pre-jane doe era and post-jane doe era probably doesn’t listen to their equally amazing splits and such. poacher diaries, deeper the wound, and the y2k ep showed a definite progression from wfcc and jane doe… just saying, it’s not that big of a stretch to get from one era to the other, and the splits, demos, and EPs the did made any change more gradual than the b/w situation you make it sound like..
