Comments on: “NOT ENOUGH” LACUNA COIL

I just listened to this and I am very disappointed. This producer turned Lacuna Coil into a pop band. Every song has the title of the song repeated over and over again. All of the previous albums have alot of thought and passion into the lyrics. Not on this one though. Not one song evoked any kind of emotion.

Who can honestly like “Not Enough?” This is the worst song from Lacuna without a doubt in my mind.
“Spellbound” was a good song but not enough Christina Scabbia. Not Enough has even less of her and is not metal. It’s pop, and it’s poorly written at that.

I honestly hope Not Enough is not going to be anything like the rest of the album, because it is downright horrible.

It’s being rumored that “I Like It” will be the next single. I really hope it shows improvement over both the new songs because otherwise this album will bomb.
I don’t know if Lacuna Coil really thinks they can ever be a mainstream band as far as selling millions of albums, but if they do, they won’t do it with this album.
There usual is too good for that kind of audience and crap like “Not Enough,” isn’t really good enough for anybody.
Of course I could be wrong…

If you compare ‘Shallow Life’ to metal as a genre, then of course the reviews will be negative. Shallow Life is not a metal album, Lacuna Coil don’t even consider themselves to be a metal band, they have been put within this genre by fans and journalists alike.

If you take the album out of the ‘metal’ context, the songs are well constructed, catchy, feel good rock music.

Sure I prefer it when they are heavier, and seeing them live, generally the songs do tend to sound heavier but comparing it to metal or their previous albums is a waste of time. In A Reverie is a fantastic album, but it was released over 10 years ago, if they released an album that sounded exactly the same then they would be criticised for not trying something new. At least give them credit for taking a chance.

Never enough doesn’t feels metal enough! And even spellbound isint that metalish!!! Cmon man!!! I was expecting some really heavy shit!!! This is more like pop specially this new song!!! I love love lacuna could but this is jus so sad! :( :(

I think the reason why the drums sound bad because of the quality of the rip.

I like it though. Very reminiscent of In A Reverie.

Comalies was an alright album, but its not Half Life or In A Reverie…

I think I’m just nitpicking and parroting here but I’m good at both so…

Don’t like the drums. They sound like they’re plastic.
Can’t stand Andy’s accent. Which is weird because I love everything European in music.
I don’t know what they used on Cristina’s voice on this song but its pitch is grating.

That being said, I loved Comalies and I thought Karmacode was good so I guess none of those things matter. I’m getting the album.

Not a fan, but having found Comalies to be pretty good overall and Karmacode to be one of the worst fucking attempts to imitate Korn(Why would you want to?) I’ve heard in years, I was of course not at all surprised the press gushed over the latter.

This sounds like more of what I enjoyed on Comalies, but not as hard or caustic, and I agree, the male “singer” needs to just fucking leave, not only is he obnoxious, but he can’t even sing.

The chorus actually reminds me of something that could have been on In a Reverie…too bad the rest of it doesn’t.

Unfortunately that’s my problem with both the new songs, the choruses are brilliant, the rest isn’t. And that’s not because I hate their male vocals…I just don’t think those parts are very good.

I used to be a huge LC fan, but the 2 songs I’ve heard from this album are really disappointing. Way too much singing from Andy, boring as hell, and not metal in the slightest. Meh.

Those drums are terrible. It makes the song sound like Linkin Park.
I like Lacuna Coil, though. I don’t expect the entire album to sound like that.

What’s with all the MIDI sounding drums in Metal these days? What happened to good old acoustic drum sounds? So much better in my opinion if you have the capabilities to do it.

The title of the song is correct. Once again they did “Not Enough” to make good music i would like. This was another attempt for me to give them a listen and a fair shake and it again has failed to do anything for me. To each his own and good for those of you that like it but I surely dont understand the attraction to this watered down stuff. At the risk of making that guy “Nathaniel” and the other guy from the other thread that took offense to the phrase un positve…this stuff stinks again. And yes guy, i know i have 10,000 bands to choose from and i should stop saying bad things about Lacuna Coil because they are way better than the shit i listen to.
