OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM DALLAS COYLE REGARDING SPLIT FROM GOD FORBID

Dallas would like the metal community to know that his split from the band has nothing to do with any familial issues with his brother, but that he has decided to leave the band for personal reasons. Beyond that, he wishes to remain quiet at the time and asks that his privacy be respected.
Its a real shame this has happened especially after they just brought out their best album. God forbid are a consistently good band live and on record and i hope the music dosent suffer becouse of this.
Dallas doesn’t seem the type to “remain quiet” about anything. Must be some heavy shit, especially after the pride he seemed to emanate during the making of, and right after the release of, Earthsblood. In any case, it’s kind of sad.

Goddamn. Leaving your band at the height of their musical career? Man, I hope Dallas comes back or they get a suitable replacement, because God Forbid is an amazing band.

Two Things; double posted cause I noticed my chronological error about the Cavalera feud, and WTF happend with Steve Austins blog for Metalsucks?
I understand how difficult it is to leave something you have put so much time and dedication towards. Something you’ve had such a passion for. Making this decision was not easy im sure. Regardless of the reasons why it happened, I just hope Dallas continues persuing whatever it is that makes him happy.
Suitable replacement? How about Kris Norris from Darkest Hour? Yep, sounds good to me.

yeah it’s sad. I don’t want to make any judgements w/o knowing the whole situation. but I also know it takes nine months for a baby to be born, so there are things that could have been sorted out prior to busting this out mid-tour. my guess is there are more issues than just that.
I just got to see God Forbid tonight in Phoenix. First time. They were in the opening slot. Wrong spot if you ask me…they ripped it out there. I was really stoked to see them. Shame about Dallas. I hope whatever his issue is, gets sorted out. On the other hand, after being so vocal in every aspect since starting his blog, and then now wanting his privacy, I say, don’t stand in the spotlight if you don’t want it shined on you.

i don’t care for the band, but i hope he stays on board MS. dude has insight in (into?) the industry, the lifestyle and so on, and i for one would be interested in hearing what else he has to say.
It is weird that he would quit now after him getting all over Light This City a few months ago about them breaking up. Hopefully it’s not because of mixed reviews of this new record. Whatever, sounds like a stupid time to quit unless you are really screwed up and need rehab or something.

shit… i know Dallas wants privacy but this bums me out pretty hard. It wasn’t easy for me to get into god forbid singing lyrics, but once I did Dallas bails? I’ve seen God Forbid so many times I can’t really count with my hands. It’s going to be strange not seeing Dallas May 8th.
