WOULD OPETH COVER ALICE IN CHAINS?

- Sunday was the seventh (!) anniversary of Layne Staley’s death.
- Opeth covered “Would?”
-AR

The ending is a little sloppy, but I think they pulled it off.
their vocalsit is an amazing singer
WOW! Never heard that before! That is by far one of the best AIC covers I have heard. I like it!
Wow! I love AIC and I hate AIC covers. But this, this is just Wow! Haunting, beautiful and amazing. Thanks for posting this.
Always did love this cover
It’s got a completely different vibe than the original without actually changing that much
Now I know why this didn’t make it onto Watershed.
Not you’re finest hour, boys.
Totally lacks the power of the original, a very boring cover. The ending was a huge let down.
Solid cover until, as said above, the terrible ending.
I really liked it except for the ending. It would have been cool if he had ended it with some death vocals.
not as powerful as AIC… it dosent have as much edge and isn’t nearly as raw… however few can pull off AIC cover to begin with… that being said this is quite good
I liked the cover, as I do pretty much everything Opeth does. I’m a fanboy, what of it?
I actually thought when Mikael got to the chorus (”Into the flood again…”) he was going to do his death metal growl. I’m not sure if that would have been really cool, or campy and predictable.
I always dug Grave’s death metal cover of AIC’s “Them Bones,” but that is probably AIC’s heaviest song, so it works. I’m not sure if the growls would have made sense in “Would?”
this cover is alright only because its opeth. no emotion, power, blah. there are very high standards for these guys.. i can see why mikael didnt want to release it.
I dig it.
I always liked what they did with Remember Tomorrow but I don’t feel as though they put much of their own spin on this one. It’s probably just the nature of this particular song though that doesn’t really allow for that.
I love both bands but found this cover pretty ordinary. I would’ve expected Opeth to do something a little different with this song and make it a little darker and heavier.
Aside from the chorus vocals and the ending, this sounded a lot like AIC… I dug it. I was wondering if Mikael was going to try to emulate Layne’s vocals on the chorus.
