OH, CHIMAIRA, YOU TEASE

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 at 10:10am by

Alright. First thing’s first: we have heard The Infection. It slays. Fucking SLAYS, dude. I’ll post a full review real soon, but for now, just know that listening to this record might kill your grandma.

As with Chimaira’s last album, Resurrection, there will be a special edition of The Infection that comes with a making of DVD directed by Todd Bell (who also directed the band’s excellent documentary The Dehumanizing Process). Here’s  a quick tease:

Now, obviously, that’s just a taste, but I already dig that guitarist Rob Arnold is being so straight-forward: yes, he thinks this is their best album yet, but, yes, he admits he always feels that way – so this isn’t your typical “THIS IS OUR MOST BR00TAL ALBUM EVER!” hype.

The Infection comes out one week from today on Ferret in North America and Nuclear Blast everywhere else.

I’d like to issue a challenge to Metal Sucks, one that I think is very reasonable… Please do not talk about this band until the new record is released! Really, try it. You don’t have long to wait. I just wanna see if you guys can REALLY do it. We all know your review is gonna be one giant 5 star slurp fest anyways. Please, no more posts until the review. I like Chimaira and will probably go out and buy this album. But you look up “over hyped” in the dictionary and you get MS talking about Chimaira.

      Nope. Sorry.

      • bearbomb

*Sigh* It was worth a shot.

While I like Chimaira, from the clips I have heard and the tracks I’ve gotten my hands on, it sounds like a slower record over all. But I’ll keep my mouth shut until this record drops or leaks.

It is a slower record, but not in a bad way. Think of being crushed to death slowly instead of gutted in an instant and you’ll have some idea of how the album feels.

I preordered the shit out of this album with the dvd and should have bought one of those briefcase things. I cant wait to kill grandmas while listening to this album. Seriously have not been this excited for an album in a very very long time. Axl keep posting shit about Chimaira. Fuck all the haters. They take cock anyways.

i loved resurrection so these guys got my hopes up very highly!

“THIS IS OUR MOST BR00TAL ALBUM EVER!”
Why does everybody say their new album is their best, just once i want to see some one say that their new album sucks. I hope it lives up to all hyped.

    • Phoenixdan

Didn’t Dallas Coyle say their new album sucked during one of his many blog rantings?

      • demogorgon

        Point noted. Cheers

  • demogorgon

sorry, all the hype. im an idiot.

  • trilog

THIS BAND SUCKS. STOP SUCKING CHIMAIRA’S BALLS PLEASE. You guys can’t go a fucking day without talking about this shitty fuckin band.

    • d.o.g.o.b.g.y.n.

After listening to “The Infection” (which is up on their myspace now), I have to say Chimaira has once again earned any “ball sucking” they may be getting. This album is nothing short of phenomenal.

Chimaira is not only bad ass, but from what i’ve heard of this new album, they’ve taken themselves to a whole new level. And as for all the ass clowns on here talking shit, listen to this album and tell me that it’s not full-on, brutal-as-fuck, fucking metal you fucking faggots!
