Avenged Sevenfold is a very good melodic metal band and they rock on stage. I don’t really care if they sacrifice puppies to Bush jr. in their spare time, I like their music and thats what matters.

Is it really “news” that Axl was the controlling factor behind every post Appetite album? One of the main reasons behind the break up of the band (or the fleeing of every member not named William Rose) was that Axl took over and transformed an awesome greasy rock band into an overproduced extravaganza.

Given the quality of Chinese Democracy(Oh no I mentioned it, I’ve broken the br00tal code), I’d have to say I agree with him, Axl was the motivator behind Illusion, and it really shows with Democracy, which I see as an Illusion III in many ways.

I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree. I love Matt’s voice. He’s got a unique scratchy, yet at times, vividly clear singing voice that I think is amazing. It just seems to me that he brings their sound together much better that anyone else could (of course, no one else has had the opportunity to try, so I might just be talking out of my ass there). I just don’t think I don’t think I’d pay them much attention if he didn’t sound like he does.

Well no surprises here. M. Shadows has stated in the past that Use Your Illusion I is his favorite album of all time and Axl Rose is his biggest influence. Considering he is also a lead singer, it’s really pretty natural that he would think Axl is the “best” part of GnR.

Well unfortuntly besides the BrOOtal bands there is not much out there as far as hard rock /metal so to speak. And Avenged is better then alot out there. Althou I agree they do lift there chops alot from maiden. And try for the swagger of Guns.. I dig a couple tunes from them. B
