SLIPKNOT SMELL GLENN BECK

Monday, April 20th, 2009 at 1:00pm by

I keep hoping Slipknot will select “Gematria (The Killing Name)” as their next single, as the song is actually pretty friggin’ heavy. But hey, fuck do I know? They’re millionaires and I help run a website.

So the band’s new single is, in fact, “Sulfur,” which is a pretty good song itself. And I like the accompanying video. Slipknot is such a visual band that I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that they constantly release cool videos, but, hey there ya have it.

thanks for not being too elite that you can’t just respect a good song and a cool video. i’ve always liked slipknot. they are an easy target, but still a talented group of musicians (most of them) the video still reminds me of the video for “split” by chimaira, but with a higher budget.

I agree with Gematria being the next single. By far my favorite song on the album.

I think this is my favorite of the All Hope if Gone videos so far though.

  • Sammy

    I’ll third the Gematria sentiment.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. It’s a cool website.

One of the better songs on the album, but a bland video. I always liked the Left Behind video and Duality. Just not into their newer videos. Gematria is one of my least favorite songs from All Hope. I’m also very tired of Shawn Crahan.

Something about the shots of the band made it hard for me to enjoy this video. the 2 previous were ok

  • alex

That shit was gay as fuck.

  • Zakk n Dime

I aslo like Gematria, but not my fav off the abum, I really really really like this osng and the video kicks ass too. I think your gonna be waitin awhile for Gematria to come out as a single, America, where God doesnt care, record label might have somethin to say about that.

  • iolanach

I’d rather watch a High School Musical marathon then suffer through a Slipknot song.

  • TurdFerguson

I caught this the other night and thought it was pretty cool, and by pretty cool i mean it was the heaviest thing MTV2 played during Headbanger’s Ball. Are Silversun Pickups really considered to be a metal band?

  • The Shape 1978

Can’t look at Slipknot without pissing myself laughing.Gotta go change.

  • groverXIII

    Slipknot… meh.

  • http://reaper-x.deviantart.com/ Reaper-X

I keep looking at it like. “They had their chance to do it right…they could have fallen this short years ago…now its too late…any new progression is meaningless.”

  • HoustonC

Hey look, a terrible video by a terrible band.

  • vegard

maybe not the right place, but i’m drunk so fuck it: i’m not a big fan of this band, but i saw them live five years ago at the roskilde festival and they played on hell of a live show. they played a few hours after meshuggah and blew them off the stage. THERE, i said it!

still, in a non-live setting i’ll always prefer meshuggah

Just wondering… What does Glenn Beck have to do with it?

    • Patton

      He stinks ?

  • CharlieB

Slipknot is an overrated commerical band that makes crappy music. Its an insult to even call them a metal band.

  • SonOF

Weak video for a pretty decent song (and album).

  • COSK!

why do they have to throw in those, “we sound like disturbed now” singing choruses in to get on the radio, its bullshit. that and the turntables are lame, and dudes who hit cans are lame, and masks too. in general. If it was just the core band, and they weren’t going for radio ariplay, i could see slipknot being a really good metal band, but theyre just marginally good.

    • Brandon

Mushroomhead wear masks and their first three (relatively unknown and ignored) albums are incredibly superior to all Slipknot material, as well as to all Mushroomhead material from 2001 onwards.

      • Mike

You can’t be serious about Mushroomhead being “incredibly superior.” They are fucking horrible.

      • Balls666

I went to a Mushroomhead show and there were 25 people there. I am not exaggerating by any means. They only have a handful of good songs. I feel like they had more potential than Slipknot did. Slipknot pigeon-holed themselves early, but Mushroomhead had a chance to really go with the experimental aspects of their music. Whatever they had, they lost it…both bands

  • bombs away

good vid, but not left behind quality. It’s easy to hate on slipknot, but I think a band that can put on crazy live shows like they do deserves some credit. Just look at it as good fun, don’t compare it to more traditional metal bands and you won’t be so pissed

  • erhreherh

    This song sucks,

    Slipknot sucks.

If you like Slipknot then you are an idiot.

    • Agmkreptile

      this song rocks,

      you suck.

if you don’t like slipknot than you are an idiot.

*notice how closed minded that statement was.*

  • Neil

    haha fuck this band. seriously

  • relaxiknowarchie

How the fuck have I not heard this song before? I bought the special edition on ripped it onto my ipod…. somehow song 3 got missed. haha cool! its a awesome song too! now I have to go and get that song on my ipod.

  • Randy

Slipknot are such an easy target, but look.Just compare them to other popular bands and SlipKnot is actually a lot better than most of them. They’re a cool band to hate. But I like a few of their songs.
I think they’re fucking retarded fans are the reason everyone hates them.Every diehard slipknot fan or “Maggot” seems to be some wannabe-hardcore douce bag.

    • Charlie B

The problem is that the majority of their core audience are in their teens to early twenties. So Slipknot is probably the heaviest and craziest music they ever listened too. Hopefully some will grow up and expand their music horizons.
