WHAT BETTER WAY TO WIND DOWN 4/20…
Monday, April 20th, 2009 at 4:32pm by Axl Rosenberg…than with a clip of Down playing “Hail the Leaf” in 1995?
Look at that crowd, dude! That doesn’t seem very chill at all.
And, hey, why not? After the jump check out the band doing “Bury Me in Smoke” at the Download Festival in 2006. Vince and I were there, about as close to the front as you can get. Ah, the memories.

one of my faves off nola
I remember that Download show, they went on in the morning as the ’secret’ band and Phil told the crowd to stop looking at him during the set. Obviously hadn’t had his usual orange juice and bran flakes.
Down is awesome live. I never heard of them until my friend dragged me to one of their shows a few years ago. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and I didn’t even know one song at the time. Now I am a Down fan for life. Everyone should see these guys.
2006 was a vintage year for Download. Down played a killer set
I didn’t think they’d last past one album. I’m glad they proved me wrong. Pepper must have one helluva resistance to assholeness.
I listened to Nola today, best Down record in my opinion.
Hey to all you pothead son of bitches listen to Blunt Force Trauma by Damageplan or Goddamn Electric by Pantera.
Man, Down I: NOLA is the stuff weed feuled dreams are made of. Bury Me In Smoke will play on an endless loop the day I die. Epic doesnt seem to be the right word for that album.
His voice is fucking so badass! No one can match his shit! No one!
Agreed. As much of an asshole he may have seemed to be, his voice is amazing.
The Bury Me in Smoke video ended as the best part of the song was beginning you assholes
