Obviously everyone hates on Trivium due to the fact they sound a particular way, but you still take the time to post something about a band you hate, making them more available to other people, who would like to know what you are so upset about. I don't particularly like Mastodon, so I'm not going to go into a Mastodon thread and start shitting up what they do. First, I don't care that much, second, they make music and I have never recorded a song, so I can't really judge them on their artistic abilities because I couldn't do anything better. Why would you criticize a band for the way they right music if you have never been the process of writing music? Included in it was part of a press release and Bravewords.com copied me word-for-word, entire story, and even used the image. I contacted them and they apologized and sourced me but I still felt a little raped. Hell, even the magazines get ideas for stories from us bloggers, especially when our feeds go through revolver-blips. But let's be honest here; we're all a little guilty of at least using other sites "ideas" and/or news articles in one way or another. I posted some Zune info about Mastodon about a week or two ago. I think that everyone that hates on a band should subsequently post a video of their awesome band playing. Or on their myspace, they must list influences that aren't: Metallica, Meshuggah, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Megadeath, or any other band that one can conceivably draw influences from.
