TDWP obviously aren’t the best band in the world, but they’re fun as hell to listen to. I listen to music because it’s fun. I don’t give a flying fuck how generic the band is, if the music is fun, I’ll listen to it. Instead of being an arrogant stuck of poser like yourself, expand your horizons and quit trying to appeal to some elite core of metalheads just to seem trve. It’s pretty sad.

Music elitism is pretty stupid in itself, lol.

I agree – TDWP is a fantastic band to see live. To SEE live. You can hardly distinguish more than 10 individual notes the entire set, and pretty much all you can hear is a constant breakdown-ish chug-chug-chugga-chug-chug. Very generic, repetitive.. Bleh. But they’re really cool to see live, regardless XD They just have to work on their musicality.

I have to dissagree with most of you, TDWP is actually very talented. I mean they actually are very unique not many bands can pull of a Synth, and there not Haircore I mean most of the guys have short hair in it so Idk where they got that from. And another thing too if you think screamo is anything you cant understand well then you my friend(s) are silly. As for the Christians only knowing how to scream look up For Today they have grunts,growls. BIG difference. And people not giving a band a shot because of their name, you sound like the most ignorant of anyone on here.

The Devil Wears Prada is out of control and fucking fake. I recently saw a band that toured called Sleep Serapis Sleep check em out btw. They said they smoked weed, drank, and brought under age girls on to their bus. I’m not trying to say that everyband doesnt do things like that but if half your popularity is bieng a christian band shouldnt they live a christian life? I personally am not christian and do not like the band but if they were true to their beliefs at least id respect them for making something of themsleves. And yes i have seen them and they are terrible live. And when i did the singer had no tattoos glasses and braces lol how brutal is that roflcopter.

I can name the best American metal bands: Wolves In The Throne Room, Sunn (((O, Blood Stained Dusk, Mastodon, Leviathan, Nachtmystium, Absu, Agalloch, Azrael, Book Of Black Earth, The Funeral Pyre, Isis, Kylesa, Light This City(rip), Nile, Cannibal Corpse, Origin,Cynic, Coliseum, Twilight(rip), Vital Remains and Withered. Now Europe’s best bands: Bal-Sagoth, Amon Amarth, 1349, Aeternus, Carpathian Forest, Akercocke, Anaal Nathrakh, Hecate Enthroned, Celtic Frost, Arcturus, Beherit, Behemoth, Enslaved, Bergraven, Belphegor, Darkthrone, Bloodbath, Gorgoroth, Mayhem,Nattefrost, Dark Funeral, Dimmu, Moonspell, Impaled Nazarene, My Dying Bride, Old Man’s Child, Marduk, Immortal, Helheim, Taake, Shining and DhG. I mean the list could go on. How does TDWP and Chimaira compare? Metalcore and Deathcore are the butt of other countries jokes about our metal scene. Cmon bangers, let’s fix this mess.

Sidenote: I used the word taboo incorrectly in that comment. I meant it to mean that listening to them makes them more of a “guilty pleasure” to some people, not that I felt prohibited to listening to them for fear of what other people may think.

Way to miss the point of my comment, Dave. I like TDWP a lot. I like them because they make music that appeals to me. Just because “they’re the new popular thing” doesn’t mean that I’ve stopped listening to them. I said “listening to them [is] kinda taboo” because some people out there ARE the type that change their behavior [in this case what bands they may or may not listen to] because they want to be unique or like you put it best, “anti-mainstream”. That said, I agree with you, I have no tolerance for stupidass scene kids that change styles and music tastes with the seasons. I think the current trend has evolved from popularized “scene” metalcore to popularized scene deathcore in the past year or two, though. Just like how Nü-Metal got big once upon a time in the mid-late 90′s. The people that still actually like TDWP in five years will still listen to them, the ones that were following a trend or anti-trend won’t. Whatever.
Every comment on here saying either that Chimaira or The Devil Wears Prada sucks is bigoted. Who the fuck cares what other people listen to? The only benefit I see in following music trends is discovering new music and new bands that you may actually like, not to be part of or outcast from the flock. Fucking sheep.
