So all of that being said, this is a friendly reminder that we think God Forbid’s Earthsblood is the shit, and if for some reason you still haven’t checked it out, you need to. Seriously. Go do it, we’ll wait here for you.
I’ll be seeing God Forbid along with Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, Children of Bodom and Municipal Waste tomorrow night in Philly (Ha-HA! You thought I was gonna say “tonight in NY,” didn’t you?). I am actively seeking drinking partners. Drop me a line if you’re gonna be there.

I think Earthsblood is great, but making videos nowadays is a bit pointless. Still gonna check it out though…

Never could get into God Forbid, I try so hard. I’ve seen them twice (once with Arsis in 07, once earlier with a friend, can’t remember the tour). I just can’t get into them.

MAKE SURE YOU GET THERE EARLY! I missed God Forbid in ATL because they went on FIRST at 7, thinking that they would go on right before Lamb of God. Was I wrong, and was I disappointed that I had to sit through “As I Lay on a Dick”…. SOOOO Disappointed, they were the main reason I went to the show!
“Shallow” just came up on my iPod yesterday, so yes, I own it and still love it. Still in heavy rotation.
I stole it for free off the internet and it wasn’t worth it. Crappy album in my opinion.

I actually did give it a try and I dont remember any of the songs cause they all sound alike. I’ve seen them live 2 and by the 2nd song I’m half to the furthest bar from the stage. I never understood the hype on this band and never will. I missed AILD on that tour and know they would have been 10 x better then GF. But hey to each their own shit! found the album in the used bin already at my local record store and passed on it. decided to pick up isis’ wavering radiant vinyl, mastodon divinations picture disc, meshuggah’s nothing remasted cd, thurston’s trees outside the academy vinyl, battlefields’ thresholds of imbalance cd, and book of black earth horoskopus cd instead. there’s better metal out there, for me. ;)
Who’s “God Forbid”?
I don’t know. I’ve definitely never heard about them on this site before.
It seems that these “big” metal bands fall into the same wrap as they gain more and more success/exposure. All of their riffs and main songs ideas sound the same. Lamb of God’s Wrath is a better example than God Forbid’s EarthsBlood, but they still achieve the same effect of putting you to sleep with repetition. I really hate to shit on these guys as I love Ashes of the Wake and prior and love Constitution of Treason and prior.
It seems that even the greatest minds run out of good quality riffs/ideas. It happens everywhere. That creative “spark” seems to get dimmer and dimmer over time.
But, hey, these guys have a metal site to run. They can’t tell the truth all the time. Because if they really think the new Lamb of God album is even a sniff near a classic like Ashes of the Wake, they are just putting on a front.
Let’s see any of you do better.
I don’t see how that is relevant. Some people don’t have the time/ambition/talent/resources to dedicate 10 years to perfect their craft, mature as artists, and come out with great music that can beat the music they deem inferior (i.e. God Forbid’s music). I don’t see why they shouldn’t be able to criticize the music if they can’t do better.
On the other hand, Earthblood’s the best record ever, so props! Just got two free dlux t-shirts in the mail, including the coyle bros./black metal one.
Its relevant. Some people just shit all over everything because the internet gives them the right whatever, when really their contribution to the world amounts to a bowl of shit. Some people on this site particular need to get fucked & die from it.

Also, can anyone on here tell me that this new album is better than Constitution of Treason? Or LOG’s Wrath is better than Ashes of the Wake? (or gasp! even Sacrament?) Just because I can smell watered down material before the rest of you folk, doesn’t make me the bad guy. It happens to nearly every band out there. Chimaira seems to be one of the bigger metal bands to constantly be evolving and not putting out similar records (besides the vocals…..same delivery every time). I don’t come on here to anonymously leave hate, but to leave my opinion and be tracked for ad revenue. I love metalsucks, but their BS on how these new albums are the best thing since sliced bread is exactly that.

i would have bought it if best buy had it. i wont buy shit at FYE cuz they charge a crazy amount for cds qnd movies. and to much to have shit shipped….
The album is fucking amazing, saw them live two nights ago in NYC. Besides Lamb Of God, God Forbid shit on everyone. You guys are all crazy, the new album is fucking awsome as well as the old ones. Kudos to God Forbid for kicking ass live and recording an awsome album.
