Dram Theater is one of my favorite bands, but this new song was just boring.
I liked that part in the middle with the gallope and the solo, but then it paused for a second and got boring again
I also didn’t like their singer on this track

Great song, and I haven’t enjoyed a whole lot from DT since Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence…and still all of my favorites of theirs are from the 90′s. I like the relative simplicity (at least until the song speeds up). You dont have to cram 100 drum fills into the first 4 minutes of the song to be a prog band, although thats the way alot of the bigger ones are going these way (im looking at you, dragonforce). Anyway, it should also be noted that this is a severely shortened version of the actual single, so if this is your first listen, it gets even better.

phale is referring to the album cover for the live Metropolis cd/dvd. It showed New York in flames and was released on 9/11, if I’m not mistaken.

The artwork was already done before the Trade Center attack happened.

Dream Theater has always been a band that pushed the envelope but never forgot that they were a metal band. Awesome song, can’t wait for the new album.

I like how they’ve “metaled” it up more since signing with RR. And Portnoy’s backup growling vocals, along with Labrie keeping it more tenor is a nice change.

And fuck Petrucci. He never fails to raise my personal insecurities and lower my self esteem.
