I hate job for a myspace.

  2. \m/Eluveitie\m/ says:

Those A-10’s gonna fuck that dude up

  3. Sacajawea says:

Never listened to them, but I like the cover.

  4. Ryd1ZZ says:

    Cover looks sick

  5. Joe says:

Rumination? That’s pretty unimpressive for an album title. Good thing it’s called Ruination.

    • Anger Unmanagement says:

I second that. Rumination makes no sense. Surely it is a typo. Oh wait it is. Epic win for Axl.

  6. Jesse says:

That album art is fuckin tits. I just hope the next album is a little lighter on the filler.

    • A-greed. I was really impressed with about four tracks on Genesis and the rest kind watered down the album’s intensity.

Either way, this album is shaping up to be super political, especially with this cover (flags and guns). Maybe that’ll give them the motivation they need.

  7. Mancubus says:

JFaC officially has the best album art that I’ve seen all year.

  8. pacomon says:

oh yea this cover art is sooooooooooooooo sick! Cover art automatically means the album is going to be awesome! cover art of the year = album of the year \m/

    • Elitist Fuck says:

Like all those shitty black metal bands who blow their budgets, and loads as well, over the album art?

    • Mancubus says:

I never said that the music is going to be good. I’ll know when it comes out. I just said that the new album cover is great which says nothing about how I feel about the music made by a band who’s lead guitarist left before they could even record.

We’ll know if it’s any good or not on July 7. But that says nothing about how kickass the album art is.

  9. crank says:

    Actually looks pretty sick.

  10. i giggled when i saw the cover art. i hope that’s the reaction they were going for. either way, looking forward to hearing the album. genesis was pretty rockin’

  11. Cougar Party says:

Not a big fan of the music, but that cover is pretty fucking sick.

  12. Z says:

Retardedly awesome. Can’t wait to see them at Mayhem.

  13. diego says:

all their allbum covers are great, I could not expect less from them

  14. SonOF says:

Wow, that’s friggin awesome. Hopefully the album will be as brutal as the artwork.

  15. Rik says:

That album is just one typo away from being “Urination”. Which is probably one of the many things I would rather be doing than listening to this band.

  16. alex says:

    Stoked.

  17. groverXIII says:

The music pretty much sucks, but the album art looks pretty decent. not as cool as the art from the Heaven & Hell album, though.

  18. MetalMatt says:

that cover is pretty sweet. No doubt some kids with money to burn will get a tattoo of it.

  19. mr_Izan says:

album art is sick hope the music is better than on genesis.

  20. Fizzy G says:

What’s so great about that cover? It looks EXACTLY like their last cover.

And am I seriously the only one who thinks “Ruination” is the dumbest title I have ever heard?

    • HagstromSpeed says:

mmm….no, it looks nothing like their old cover except for their “mascot,” you could say http://pic.goleech.org/out.php/i994_JobForACowboyGenesisF.jpg

    • Tawxik says:

“Ruination” is the perfect title for the Cd. Ruination is defined as being the act of ruining or the condition of being ruined. So therefore, if you imply the topics of the songs ( modern-day worldwide dilemmas, controversial issues, humanitarian rights of Northern Korea, the modern genocidal government of Nubia, the use of torture in American military tactics, and the overruling by world governments and police states/martial law) calling this Cd “Ruination” is quite brilliant on Job For A Cowboy’s part.

      • Anselmowitz says:

Lol yeah, cuz they’re the fucking beatles & they’re going to open peoples minds to the true horrors of the world with their lyrical insight. Maybe thats too cynical, but I think you’ll find its more a “metal” sounding album name than a political statement.

        • Tawxik says:

Yes, in some characteristics, I’m sure “Ruination” is a political statement! I mean, it’s not like voicing a political view is a fundamental song theme throughout Death metal’s history or anything.

        • Captain Blacklung says:

Might I quickly interject and point out that Genesis was a concept album devoted entirely to the V-chip debate and it’s worldwide ramifications, so it’s more than plausible that Ruination has political undertones.
It’s a proven fact that cynics have a 90% higher chance of being the victim of sodomy than pirates.
          AAAAAARRRRRG.

  21. GingaJoe says:

I use to really like this band Doom was amazing Genesis was good too but I cant seem to get excited for this new album

  22. jonowev says:

Looks cool I guess. The music should be pretty kickass too.

  23. B-dizzle says:

    NO CARE EVER

  24. cyrollan says:

let’s nobody like this band because they use myspace.

  25. Mynamesucks says:

I don’t really give a shit about this band but that’s a pretty sick cover.

  26. thebenthic says:

everyone talks shit on job for a cowboy because they use myspace and there either a) they dont sound like they did on the doom ep, or b) they put out the doom ep. pretty much bullshit. i honestly did like the doom ep WHEN I WAS 16. which was about the same age they were when they put it out. to be honest when genesis came out i was pissed it didnt sound like doom. but now that my musical preferences have changed and matured i find that genesis has become one of my favorite albums. the second to last song, freakin mastorpiece. there music has matured and can actually be considered death metal now, and if you havent heard the new song “constitutional masturbation” your missing out big time. so to the people who say all jfac are is just bree bree are about 4 years behind the times. this band can be considered actual death metal and if your mature enough in your musical preferences to see that then you will understand the ruination will most likely be a great album that will hopefully elevate them to legitimate death metal status.

  27. Sin and Death says:

I’m with everyone who thinks the title is lame. I can see the conversation now:

    J. Davy (in growly voice) – “WHOO-WHAAT’S THE BEST ALBUM TITLE WE CAN THINK OOFFF?”

    B. Thompson – “Well, we’re writing this album about the over-used and unoriginal concept of politics. But we can use a random word out of the dictionary that loosely relates to our topic material, or one that can be a play on words. Hmm… any ideas guys?”

Riggs – “That’s a swell idea Bobby! We’re all such geniuses, that anything we say will be eaten up by the legions of our 13 year old fans.”

Charn – ” Maybe something with how the nation is ruined? That would be completely brutalz, just like our totally rad music!”

    J. Davy – (in high pitched shriek) – “YEEE, YAP-DAP DIDDLY EEE-YAAAA!!!”

    A. Glassman – “Yes! That’s a wonderful idea, Jonny. ‘Ruination’ will be the title of our next half- hour album, including filler. Now let’s go get drunk, and then embarrass ourselves trying to play our own music live.”

(All together) – “JOB FOR A COWBOY… AWAY!”

  28. Demogorgon says:

Why are so many people getting so tight about the tilte, its just one little word. Its whats on the album that is important. If the metal is good real metal fans will buy the album even if its called ‘daisy sucks donkey dick’ or something silly like that.

    • THE CARL says:

Because people are losers and have nothing better to do then to sit in their parents basements and nit pick over anything they possibly can about a band they hate because they are jealous at the bands success.

The album artwork looks incredible, and if the rest of the songs are anything like Constitutional Masturbation then the alubm itself will be incredible as well.

  29. Conduit says:

Shitty band, shitty music, kick ass album artwork. That’s all.

  30. grymmbear says:

I don’t see Spongebob anywhere on the album cover.

    *disappointed*

  31. Captain Blacklung says:

AVAST YE POOR MORTALS, PREPARE TO BE TEXTUALLY BOARDED.
Is it just my glass eye playing tricks or does it look like this chap is chillin’ on a Vanuatu beach in a Hawaiian shirt and board shorts trying to order a mai-tai?

Regardless of the Big Cowbowski cover Job for a Cowboy are still no band to sneeze at, any band that can integrate progressive groove and classical style vocal hooks into solid death metal deserve all the fat, pimply myspace love they get thrown at them.

And besides, in these fragile times anytime a popular band can inspire a fresh, disillusioned teenager to go seek out real death metal and discover heritage like Carcass and Cryptopsy are owed a clap.

As for the constant slagging of the album title, well seriously, that’s fucking petty. PETTY. It’s as sad as judging an album solely on the cover art…. oh wait… nevermind.

    Fuck ye’ landlubbers.

Love Australia’s fourth most significant heavy metal pirate blogger and beat farmer.

  32. That Other Guy says:

Not bad album art, but i’m not going to be holding my breath for the music to be any good…

  33. Reaper-X says:

Whatever…The title and the album cover don’t mean shit. What matters is the content…and hopefully they will have more STRAIGHT UP DEATH METAL in this album. The further they separate themselves from the -core faggotry of Doom, the better.

  34. Blake says:

Even if I end up not liking the music, I fuckin’ LOVE the artwork. Well done.

  35. SourDeez says:

That’s a pretty sick cover. Next steps: Do something at least slightly original and recognizable. Maybe play a memorable riff or two. Add some kind of personality to your music. Stop being one of the most stereotypical and derivative bands on the planet.
