Congratulations to all 10,461 of you who have emailed us about Smashface, the new band featuring Chris Storey formerly of All Shall Perish; you’ve gotten your wish for a MetalSucks post. All Shall Perish are one of the few bands in the deathcore scene we hold in very high regard, and it bummed us out that Storey left. So it’s unsurprising then that Smashface is also top-notch shit. Where All Shall Perish were serious and earnest, Smashface takes a decidely lighter and humorous approach to their music, but it’s all good — the shred is on another fucking level as could be expected, and the composition is all there. Highly worthy of you checking them out right this moment.
BraveWords.com tells us that Storey is also playing shred for Adrian English, whose new record A.D.D. just dropped on the appropriately monikered Shredcore Records. Check it out on Adrian English’s MySpace page. This is more what you’d expect from a modern instrumental shred record… imagine what would happen if John Petrucci got in a room and jammed with the rhythm section of any band on Sumerian Records, and you’ve got the sound nailed. AKA it’s good shit!

You guys have extremely poor taste in music. Both of those bands suck horribly and couldn’t write a song of their lives depended on it. I like shred guitar, but it is better when there is a some semblance of a song around it, not incredibly crappy drum machine tripe. Yuck, and no thanks.
Oh well please grace us with your apparently much higher musical prowess. Why don’t you list some of the bands you listen to so we can be just like you.
Btw, couldn’t write a song? Listen to ASP’s Prisoner of War. Song writing doesn’t get much better especially for extreme music.

HEY guys…..everyone….wow….ease up, chris left the band for alot of good reasons, as a long term shredder i have had the privileged and ability to work with him….he is a very knowledgeable “guitarist”… not a wanna be “guitar player”, so much so that i was stolked to have him appear on my debut A.D.D. on shred guy records,granted with time constraint he only did the very last 3 hysterical 3part harmonies on MECHANIZED….but all in all…i was glad to have him on. MY TAKE ON SMASH FACE IS THAT ITS SOMETHING DIFFERENT, FOR HIM AND ALL THE A.S.P. FANS. ive sat and jammed with this guy and…..fuhk….he has his own niche.! we are all different as players…me personally..well i was lucky enough at a young age to have world class teachers showing me things before i even entered jr. high.!!!! …………..IF YOU NEED AN EVER HARDER EDGE EVOLVING RUBIX CUBE ………………………………ADRIAN ENGLISH MYSPACE A.D.D. ………AND YES CHRIS IS ON THE END OF “MECHANIZED”….time will tell…this guy gets sicker and sicker every single time i jam with him! lol….im starting to get scared.
ASP was great… Smashface is horrible, at best.
