LOOKEE LOOKEE, THERE’S A NEW JFAC SONG!
Thursday, May 28th, 2009 at 4:20pm by Axl Rosenberg
The track, entitled “Unfurling a Darkened Gospel,” is currently streaming on the band’s MySpace page. It’s fast, it’s mean. I dig it. I also dig that this band always has long, borderline pretentious song titles. That, my friends, is some tr00 death metal shit.
Ruination comes out July 7 on Metal Blade.

Thanks to Alex Schwarzer for the tip.

I like, i like.
I like it. Some sections bring to mind, in a roundabout way, a less techy version of The Faceless. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.
That was actually decent… I always tend to lump these guys in with the deathcore crowd, but perhaps I will have to give them another chance.
(They still have a stupid name, though.)
Solid track. Good to hear them change their sound a little bit, but I also hope there are better songs on the album. Oh, and that false ending was lame.
this band of trend hoppers tries entirely way to fucking hard
Killer song. I am stoked for this album. The people who say they are a deathcore band have obviously not heard Genesis.
Keepitwolf there are no words to describe just how lame you are. You may call them “trend hoppers” (like that even makes sense in extreme metal), but I call it matureing. Lets not forget that Pantera was a glam metal band before they became the legends that they are now.
I will explain breifly why I personally think this band is a perfect example of modern extrememe metal. In a scene filled with either irrelevant breakdown bands or bands that are almost too technical for their own good, JFAC is a seemingly breathe of fresh air.
Now I may not be as kvlt as everyone else hear, but I actually like the fact that I can appreciate the amazingly precise drumming of John Rice, but at the same time can actually humm back the well written guitar riffs of Bob Thompson, and the shredtastic solos of Al Glassman. And Johnny Davys dynamic vocals and relevant lyrics are just the icing on the metal cake. Wow tech death that is actually catchy and stays with you, GO FUCKING FIGURE!
They’re getting more memorable which is good because they are still generic as fuck with a terribly comical singer. But really, there is so much fantastic music yet to come in 2009 (and already arrived) this band is totally irrelevant. Since the late ’90’s I’d say there is not much in the way of straight up death metal that’s doing something new or at least if not something new then writing great songs. Hail of Bullets is about all I can think of.
As for the “precise” drummer I didn’t look into it much on this song but the first song they had posted the dude was horrible when playing blast beats, just simply could not stay on beat or form any sort of pocket.
Yeah their so irrelevant they get full articles about them on metalsucks, metal injection, etc. everytime they have a press release.
Did you really just say that? You’re living in some kind of dream world I think.
The vagueness of your statements actually suggests the opposite. I mean you are basically suggesting that JFAC is not capable of creating anything as relevant as the bands that you ( i think i can safely assume) just so happen to like. You and others can write them off as much as you want but I assure you they are only going to get bigger after this and it is in my opinion that they derserve it.
They’re separating themselves further from faggoty deathcore…
Someone out there cares.
Sounds killer. Mayhemfest might be a Go!
Good riffs and I actually like the vocals. His lows and highs song different then alot of other bands.
A very catchy heavy song.
I have never listened to this band before but I might check out this album.
I agree that this is exactly what I want modern death metal to sound like.
Good song.
Hopefully they most one more before the release so I can see if I want to buy it.
Go on youtube and look up “Constitutional Masturbation” its another leaked song thats going to be on the album.
Any concerns that Glassman would bring them back to breecore are now proven wrong (Thank God/Satan/Vishnu/various pagan deities). This album is going to be what Genesis hinted at and their first that is actually worth buying.
yes, thanks to alex schwarzer. my boi.
