REB BEACH CUTS IT LOOSE

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009 at 11:55am by Vince Neilstein

Loyal MetalSucks Maniac Steve S. sent us an email a couple of weeks back with a link to this video, asking us, “Who the fuck is Reb Beach?”

Dear Steve,

FAIL. EPIC FAIL.

Sincerely,
Vince and Axl

Steve comes close to redeeming himself with the following observation: “the editing makes it all dramatic.” Indeed, Steve, indeedily-do. We still love ya.

I maintain it wasn’t grunge but your man who wore the winger shirt on Beavis & Butthead that killed what popularity that band had.

  2. xCOOCOOKALx says:

    seriously though, who is he?

  3. Napalm_Death says:

    Is he wearing chaps?

  4. SourDeez says:

Someone really needs to start giving out Guitar Douche awards to feed the egos of guitar douches everywhere, ensuring that they will not only continue being ultimate guitar douches, but actually increase their douchebaggery until it causes them to implode like a black hole, turning them into awesome death and black metal musicians who kill all of the metalcore posers at the mall and storm the music media and turn the world into a more metal place for everyone. Yes, that’s right, we must turn to the guitar douches in a time of dire need.

  5. wata says:

I feel a need to go to Guitar Center.

  6. Sammy says:

I would make some snide “wanker” comment, but the reason I don’t own an Ibanez is because I’m not worthy.

  7. Paul says:

    No douchbaggery here.

Reb Beach is just a talented guy doing what he does. He’s not posing, he’s not making fuck-me eyes at the camera, he’s not strutting around like god’s gift. He’s just playing guitar. Very well, I might add.

For those who don’t know, he was Winger’s guitarist. He has also played with Alice Cooper and a side project by King’s X bassist Doug Pinnick.

Say what you want about Winger’s music overall, there’s no denying Beach’s talent.

Sometimes I miss guys like him and White Lion’s Vito Bratta. Just good, unpretentious guitar badassery.

  8. pokesmot says:

I agree with Paul Winger fucking sucked but man this dude can play and Vito Bratta was the man
    pure fucking talent

  9. Malacoda says:

I had no idea Whitesnake’s guitarist was this talented!

    • Paul says:

Whitesnake has always had talented guitarists.

      Vivian Campbell
      Steve Vai

      And, yes, recently, Reb Beach.

  10. TheHangingBrain says:

Say whatever the fuck you want about Winger because I myself am not a fan, but this dude can fucking wail. Any of you that think otherwise can quit bitching and eat a bowl of dicks.

  11. He’s good. But how old is this video, because I can not remember when that hair was last seen on Hetfields bonce.

  12. Glenn says:

The artificial harmonic at 2:56-ish was so awesome.

I agree with the general under-appreciation of Reb, and do hope he turns into a black metal monster as a previous poster suggested.

  13. Kodiak says:

Heh, Winger’s “Seventeen” is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but I didn’t realize how much their guitarist could tear it up! I think less people would have hated on hair metal if more of it had been instrumental like this. His cover of “Black Magic” is quite awesome as well.

  14. NoSeriouslyIAmMetalDood says:

    reb beach = guitar titan.
