Except different groups of people respond differently and more favorably to different types of marketing there for knowing who your fans are is extremely important when deciding the best avenues and execution for promoting music or anything for that matter

Agreed. Creativity in marketing and hardwork is worth its weight in gold, but MySpace is an undeniable way to get new bands out there. I totally depend on it to discover people I never would’ve heard otherwise. That said- I’m sure it can’t last forever.

Whereas I see your point, I personally dig shirts with a little more substance to them. When I said they were generic I was implying there was a difference between generic and having simplicity. They could be simple without being generic.

Also, thank you for responding with an intelligent response. It tends to get really old when you see responses that present no point at all and just contain horrible grammar, spelling, and so forth (not that I am considerably perfect, but I try).

As far as the music goes, I’ll listen to Obscura over Suicide Silence any day of the week. I am just not really into deathcore anymore. If I want straight up pummel I listen to Cannibal Corpse or some other “good ol’ fashion death or grind”.

I think the whole MySpace thing is more of “taking advantage of what’s at hand” rather than pure laziness. I’m pretty sure if computers had never come along, quite a few bands would have gotten off of their asses and toured the shit out of everywhere and would have went to every parking lot tape trade.

Some times the simpler things are the more punch they pack. What will get someones attetion first, a shirt with a whole storyline on it or the big ominous disconcerting words WAKE UP, that will have a person asking themselves, “hmmm whats that t shirt about?”, and then they look back again and see the words SUICIDE SILENCE. “Hmmm, ill go check that out.”

I think its almost a metaphore for the bands music itself. They are not the most technical band out there, which makes some of their stuff not just more pummeling sounding, but also makes them a refreshing alternation between a band like the Facless or Obscura.
