this is the best interview ever!!! only problem is that its too long, its only funny for like the first minute.
i myself wouldnt touch coke or heroine but im a weed man. when i was a kid i had so many conversations like this with teachers etc.
people read far too much into this, i like manson as much as any pop band (i do NOT mean that as an insult) and maybe the music has gotten worse. how about you dont listen to it assholes! as for manson as a person, hes probably having a ball, getting shit faced and fucking 19 year old actors. youre probably just jealous you dont get to.

you dont get it at all (and no im not playing the misunderstood artist card, its just that youre a goddamn fool). what has he done that makes him not an artist? an artist entertains and provokes thought (whether that thought be something “deep” or just “what the fuck is wrong with this guy?” is irrelevant), it is not debatable that manson does both.

This interview has really been overly scrutinized. People have gone to ridiculous extents based on this interview alone. Meanwhile, no one pays attention to all the other interviews he’s been doing. I think it’s based on fear of the idea that the Manson that always provided fodder for certain people to whine about stupid kids is a forty year old man and it doesn’t work anymore. His image always betrayed his intelligence to certain people, and that seems to have changed in his music and his appearance. Even worse, he’s lasted. The man is still making music, he still has fans, and he’s still good at it. That’s hard for people to imagine, so as soon as they get the idea that he is slipping, even when he clearly isn’t, they jump at it. That’s unfortunate, but I suppose it only fuels him and his fans.

Wow, the comments above me make me so damn angry. Manson isn’t a gimick, he does what he does and laughs at all of the the pretty little bitches and assholes who like to pretend this world is perfect. Hell’s yeah to Manson for pointing out that everything isn’t clean and sterile. So he got fucked up a couple times, it’s not like he’s always like that. Every band has it’s time when it gets into the hollywood scene. You have that much money and nothing to spend it on, so they throw away a few years of their lives. As long as Manson keeps making music I’ll be happy. New album rocks and I can’t wait to see him on tour this summer.

Congrats, “Marilyn Manson” (hahahaha! the name is still hilarious)–You are America’s Goth Kid!! You had one sad teenage dream and now that it’s come true, now what? NOW WHAT MARILYN? Take some drugs. It was never about the music and you know it. I would really really really like to hear about Marilyn Manson’s suicide. Take one for the team. If you’re not gonna grow up and learn how to sing or make something beautiful than complete your sad, lifetime parody of teenage angst by slitting your wrists in the bathtub. Or hey maybe you could shoot up a room full of interviewers and then blame it on your own music!!!! Then you can return from the grave to tell us that it’s not your fault!! (Does that mean I think Manson is responsible for Columbine? No. But that’s who he’s being marketed to and I guarentee you he didn’t lose much sleep over it.)

Not saying Phil doesn’t sound fucked up at all.All these drugs are bound to have some effect even though he doesn’t sound as weird as Manson does,and as I’ve said he still seems to keep his shit together which is a must in this business.I’m also hopeful that he’s still being careful about not overusing medication.

It could’ve been easy for Manson to pretend that he was completely lost,only to make the interviewer even more annoyed.But I’m pretty sure that we will never really know the bottom line about this.One thing’s for sure,if he wanted to get the people to talk,he fucking reached his goal.Only thing is,even his music is very weak today,so ruining it even more for himself by acting like a retarded monkey is not exactly the most professionnal move to make.

I agree with most people on the fact that it is a little too late in his career for him to try and prank people like that.At this point it’s a lack of maturity and consideration.Wether he was doing it on purpose or accepted to do an interview even though he knew he couldn’t put a complete sentence together…it’s all a HUGE lack of professionalism.Don’t get me wrong,I do have a good sense of humour,pretty sure everyone who reads MetalSucks does. :)
