Family might be forever, but luckily the movie is only ninety minutes.

Check out the latest trailer at after the jump, if you feel so inclined.

I don’t think it looks awful. I saw the first one but I don’t remember it that much. I was pretty wasted.

    Better than Twilight

The original Halloween was so good that I am happy that I don’t remember the re-make. I must have seen that movie 100 times before I was 13. But you know what they say, “When in Rome…”

stoked for this . . . fuck it, this is better than some pg-13 remake of an asian horror film that already sucked.

  9. Seth says:

i think it looks pretty good

He’s a horror fan making movies for other horror fans. I’m sure that even he would agree that he’s not bringing anything original or groundbreaking to the table. I didn’t find the first remake very good at all, but as someone else said, it’s better than most of the other PG-13 horror fluff that’s out there because his intentions are at least in the right place.

Was Myers always this HUGE? And STRONG? He tipped over a car for gods sakes! This movie looks awesome! I hate horror movies cuz I’m a ficking wussbag. I get scared by everything.
But what I hate even more are those jerks who says shit like: “That wasn’t scary at all”. Who the hell are you to decide what’s scary or not?

    • Metal Fuckin' Dave says:

Well…if it doesn’t scare me…it’s not scary. If it scares you…well you are a pussy.

Apart from the lame line “family is forever” i think its a pretty fucking cool poster. Zombie makes good horror movies apart from the odd cringe inducing line, he’s better than a lot of filmakers these days.

The first one was terrible, except for mean joe grissly. I won’t bother seeing this one.

I don’t get people. If you like the original, fine. Whatever. I’m glad he’s making Michael a bigger character than in the previous. People say “well, Michael was cooler when you didn’t know anything about him”. You got eight other movies where Michael’s just some immortal guy in a mask killing people. Rob was told by Malek Akkad that “he could go wherever he wanted with the film”. He’s no longer bound by the original story. He’s going to do that. I’m also tired of people saying that the first movie, where he was, in fact, bound by the original story. He did everything he could to make the first one recognisably different. He even said himself that it was miserable, and that’s the reason he’s doing the second because of the critical failure of the first. It seems that Rob’s best movies are the second installments, because by that time he can fully flesh out the characters and make them better characters. That’s what he intends with the second film. I dig the fact that he’s taking Michael in a new direction. I like the fact that his mask is partially ripped. He said “I wanted to make Michael’s face partially visible to play out Tyler Mane’s acting abilities even more, because otherwise he’s a guy in a mask who doesn’t talk at all, which doesn’t really involve any real ‘acting’. He wanted to show that the man’s face inside the mask was as blank and emotionless as the mask itself, revealing that the face was really not much different than the mask. I like the fact that he has Mchael wearing a cruddy hoodie too. I don’t think that it portrays Michael as a hobo, (like so many YouTubers have suggested), but rather that it’s something fresh, which was, again what Rob had intended.
Probably the only thing that I’m honestly dissatisfied with the films is the relationship he develops with the visions of his dead mother. I believe that it is indeed an excuse for Rob to have her in the second film. Not only that, it seems that the ghost of Michael’s mother is totally insane, which seems contradictory as she calls for Michael to “bring them together through a river of blood. I think this seems way too much like the relationship between another slasher, Jason Voorhees, and his mother, Pamela Voorhees. Not only that, his mother wasn’t insane in the first film, although through Michael’s distorted views she apparently is. I believe that this could have been handled differently in the first movie. I would not have had her commit suicide, which I found to be a big mistake on Rob’s part. I would make her love for her daughter Laurie be the only thing giving her the will to survive. Had Rob not killed her off, he could do what he intends to do in the second, and show the mental and physical wear and tear of the characters even better. I believe this would have been a much better role Sheri Moon’s part, to continue to watch her mentally unravel as Michael went on his killing spree. She would have been alive and possibly he could have killed her off then. I would have done this: I would keep her alive, so that she can see the war between Michael and his sister, she attempts to handle the situation by telling Michael what a horrible person he’s become, then, as Laurie watches, he kills his own mother. This would not only show what a heartless monster Michael truely is, but also show that extreme mental impact on Laurie. She would lash out and reveal her insanity on Michael, (which apparently Rob intends to do in the second as well). This would have made her better fit in the second movie; I find that this would be a much better plot and it would fill people with complete empathy for her when she is killed. I would indeed make Halloween 2 a very emotional, very sad, yet scary and very suspenseful movie.
