I fucking hate, hate, hate, loathe, despise, cannot stand, am sickened by, hate Five Finger Death Punch. Hate ‘em. The best description I ever heard of their “music” came from Dallas Coyle, who called them “nu-metalcore.” Except I’m not sure if that’s fair to either nu-metal or metalcore.
Anyway, our friends at Metal Insider have an exclusive stream of FFDP’s new song, “Burn it Down,” and I know enough people bought the group’s first album that some of you probably care. I’m sure it will be on an upcoming album or something, but I really don’t care. Listen to it here, if for no other reason than to know thy enemy.
Personally, I listened to about ten or fifteen seconds of the song before I turned it off. It sounds at least ten years too late to me.

These guys are like the poor man’s Pantera combined with the typical Phil Anselmo/Jamey Jasta “tough guy” vocals. Either way, they’re an ok listen, and pretty fun live.
Metal Hammer hit the nail on the head by saying they sound like “Slipknot mudwrestling with Pantera”. EXACTLY !!!!!!!!!!!!! I Fucking HATE Pantera and don’t even start me on Slipknot, Hipshot, Shitnot whatever. Now we have this 5FDiPshit taking over the porcelain throne of Shitdom from those two. I thought that The Chariot’s new album was pretty fucking great. Nice concept and it holds together as one piece. I’ve never seen them live though.

I like the Fedor Emilianenko Affliction shirt because Fedor is a fucking badass. I like UFC but I also like Affliction,Strikeforce & M-1 because I dig MMA(and not just for the Ground-N-Pound). I kinda liked their first album somewhat… it’s mindless tough-guy metal, and nu-metalcore is an apt description, but I like the production and they have some decent riffs, and I kinda like Ivan’s voice. Lyrically, well, that’s another story entirely.

To have an opinion you must be human. To review a band you must be a critique with some sort of experience or knowledge in music. And…. have a love for all types of music. Honestly how dare you bash a band just for their style of music along with their lyrics? Thats like telling a person, I dont like the way you speak, or I dont like the way you walk. Simply because all bands write different material, just like we all speak differently. I personally love 5FDP…..but I also love classical, thats how wide my range is for a love of music. I like 5FDP because how often can you find a band that has killer double bass/guitar riffs/ and lyrics you can actually understand without having to read the material. All 5FDP songs have a “Im gonna kick you in the ass” type sound and thats what I love about them. Not your typical pussy shit about a boy who cant be all he wants to be cuz daddy slapped him like a little bitch growing up. Not to mention, Ivan has a really distinct voice, he can sing, but he also can scream…..like a man. Not like a boy who’s balls haven’t dropped yet. So if you must be judge mental about them please do it on a more experienced level than just bashing them for their type of sound, lyrics or genre. Because in my opinion, 5FDP is straight forward, they get to the point, they let you know they are here, they can sing, they can play music, but also let you know they can kick your ass. Everyone here has compared them to another band, but if we didnt have the other bands, who the hell would they get their inspiration from?
