Quickly:
Killswitch Engage’s entire new album, the aptly titled Killswitch Engage, is streaming here. It’ll be released a week from today on Roadrunner. Does it make me a pussy if “Lost” is my favorite song on the record?
DevilDriver are streaming a new track, “Back with a Vengeance,” here. It comes off the band’s latest, Pray for Villians, which Roadrunner will also release, on July 14. Also, obligatory plug for the MetalSucks co-sponsored Thrash & Burn tour, which DevilDriver are headlining. Get tour dates here.
Behemoth have a new song, “Ov Fire and the Void,” streaming here. The track comes off of Evangelion, which Nuclear Blast will release on August 7 in Europe and August 11 in the US.
I’m digging the new KSE. At certain parts they seem to actually be changing things up a bit and I really like the songs where Howard sings with a bit more of a jazzy style.
The Killswitch is still a bit formulaic, but as noted above, there is some hard-to-define difference that makes it a bit of a progression from the last two albums. The guitars rhythm tones are awesome, as usual, and there’s something (I can’t put my finger on it) about the drum riffs that just kick me in the ass.
I’ve never been able to get into KSE and this new album does nothing to change that. I think its the clean vocal choruses that kill it for me, they abruptly change the feel of the song for me. I like clean vocals in metal but for some reason the metalcore bands just don’t do it in a fashion I enjoy listening to.
DevilDriver has always been a little too cheesy for me but the song isn’t bad.
The Behemoth track rocks tho, going to have to pick up that new album.
I have really liked Devildriver’s last 2 albums, and the first new song they put out was really good as well. This one…not so much, I would skip over that one on the album every time I think. Lyrics suck
Kse is about as decent as all of the albums with howard have been, nothing too new there. Not like anyone expected anything that different.
That bohemoth track is awesome! cant wait for that to get out
New KSE definitely reminds me why I love this band so much. Songs are a bit short though.
KSE is unbeatable unless GIAA went to metal, if you know what I’m talking about. lol
Plus, I like DD’s new record as well. I’ve Been Sober is sick. :)
I’ve never had anything grow on me as much as the KSE record. At first, I was disgusted by what seemed like a phoned-up corn-o-rama, but holy shit, are some of the later tracks great.
The Behemoth track is trvly brvtle.
those lying bastards at blabbermouth reported this before they even uploaded it.
Devil driver track is pretty sweet but i’m not feeling the killswitch album, its just more okish metal thats spoilt with really lame moments.
Anywhere else to hear the new behemoth song? It’s blocked at work and I really want to check it out.
The new DevilDriver album is pretty sick. The KSE one was blah at first but grew on me like a mother fucker.
Behemoth is about the most metal thing ever. Holy shit I love those guys.
New Killswitch sucks
first KSE song on the player had a guitar solo. Thats good. I’d like them more if they would shred a bit more than their standard.
Devildriver will simply never sound good to me. I’ve come to grips with that…quite awhile ago.
New Behemoth is fucking ACE! I’ll be picking up that release.
“Lost” may be a love “ballad” but it’s far from pussy-ish, aside from the rather stale lyrics.
new KsE is pretty good! and yea ‘Lost’ is another cool doom metally track for the guys. They should start going that direction on the next record :D

I meant Behemoth meant “of”
Don’t care about Killswitch, DevilDriver are alrite gonna check them later. But Behemoth, now this is fucking brutal !
Killswitch’s ‘The Returns’ is awesomely addictive, just a brilliantly written song.
And I love the album, looking forward to owning it..

I didn’t really like the last KSE album, but I’ve kinda been digging this one. I mean, they’re fairly standard metalcore, but they’re pretty solid.

New kse is really going in a sweet direction.
It goes without saying that behemoth are going to fucking demolish it every single time

New KSE = Gheeeey
DevilDriver = LOLZ Dez trying to be metal? HAHAHA thats laughable
Behemoth = Quite metal, and the new track KILLS.
the guy above me is clearly metal as fuck
lol
My comment revealed that I’m not 100% metal guy. Same thing goes with KSE members.
It’s hard to be metal as fuck.
