Is it because they're popular now? They worked their asses off and were (probably still are) one of the hardest working metal bands out their, they helped start the revival of American Metal. I've been a metalhead for 10 years and list to alot of stuff thats heavier, more brutal, more technical, etc. and I still love LOG with a die hard passion, great riffs, great lyrics, great drums, overall awesomeness. They are one of my top 10 favorite metal bands. Not everyone has to like it, which is a good thing, but constantly putting them down for their accomplishments and success by claiming they aren't metal sounds like the spouting of an incompetent ignorant underground elitist who refuses to listen to any band that sells more than 150,000 records. Whenever I heard Lamb of God for the first time in early 2002 it had rekindled my hope in the American Metal scene. /rant Whats with all the LOG hate? Is it because they’re popular now? If you read more carefully, I do recognize that Korn is not metal. My music taste's are eclectic to say the least, although metal is where I eventually come back to at the end of the day. I search out new metal everyday and sometimes I get lucky. But my advantage is recognizing something for what it is, regardless of where it came from, what festivals they play at, and who or how many people listen to them. To say Lamb of God is not metal is ignorant. Granted there was a time in high school when yeah Hot Topic was the place to discover some heavy bands. And then came the internet...I will never squash anyone's taste's without giving them a good listen first. Of course there is tons more music out there, and not enough hours in the day to find and listen to it all. But do not assume that I sit here in a As I Lay Dying shirt surfing lambgoat all day for the next great, lets see who is on there today...ahh Job For a Cowboy. Actually some pretty solid death metal regardless of what website they are on. Everyone needs to give up on caring about ANYTHING but the music. Good music is good music, if its sold at hot topic, walmart, or on some Norwegian website I have never heard of. So to answer your question...I have already found bands that I enjoy more than LOG, but I am not about to "toss" a great CD. But you already talked me out of doing that because I don't want to become a 27 year old who misses out on some great tunes because of my ego. oh and Linkin Park does still have a solid song every once in awhile, there I said it.
