ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS – PORTALS EXCLUSIVE FULL ALBUM STREAM!

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009 at 1:00pm by MetalSucks

Arsonists Get All the Girls - PortalsArsonists Get All the Girls have been through a lot since the release of their last album, 2007’s The Game of Life. From various line-up changes to the tragic death of a bandmate, the last two years have most certainly been a struggle for the Santa Cruz outfit.

The sheer force of those travails – as well as the newfound maturity the band has achieved because of them – shine through on their third full-length, Portals. This album is a major evolution for Arsonists Get All the Girls – the band has created a record that’s angry, experimental, challenging, and, of course, heavy as a motherfucker.

Portals comes out July 14 on Century Media. In the meantime, you can stream the entire album right here! And if ya dig it, pre-order Portals, along with a groovy AGATG t-shirt, here.

[UPDATE: This exclusive promotion has now ended.]

  1. Franco says:

    pretty fucking good

  2. Jordan says:

I am really digging this album. I think it is their best yet (though, I still have a couple songs to go).

    • Justin says:

you cant be fuckin serious. this is their worst. still amazing, but compared to cameron and remy. shiit. the game of life was their best. and most likely always will be. unless cameron comes back

  3. metalguy says:

    very different and very good

  4. Taylor says:

lol their album art im afraid tyler is very original, im not sure what ur talking about

    • 'lil billy says:

Original? It looks like every Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Winds of Plague and Born of Osiris t-shirt thrown into a blender and printed on the album cover.

      • Ben says:

Possibly because those shirts are all done by the same artist, Benjamin Lande?
And He possibly could’ve done this artwork as well?
        Idiot.

        • 'lil billy says:

Nevertheless, that doesn’t necessarily constitute originality. The artist may be original, but if all the work is similar, are the individual works original? Repka did the cover artwork for countless bands (mostly thrash) and had his own original style that was carried through the majority of his work. This Benjamin character does the same, but with core bands. Keep in mind, I never said the artwork or the music was bad, just that it wasn’t “very original” as others had previously mentioned. And since I’m clearly the bigger man here, I’ll refrain from calling you an idiot.

        • Thomas says:

          Its Chad Lenjer.
          Idiot.

    • fuck yourself says:

its fucking artwork get over yourself it has nothing to do with how bad ass the album is. if this conversation is even half way serious all you guys think your sweet,

  5. Rida says:

I’ve never listened to any other album by them, but this album’s amazing! Normally experimental bands like these take me a while to break into, but upon first listen, I have a strong urge to pick this up the day it comes out.

    Amazing.

  6. Vikingfromhell890 says:

Very nice. Shows much of a step up from The Game of Life.

  7. Taylor says:

Yeah they actually pulled it off really well, the game of life was crazy, this is crazier. :)

  8. Facebook User says:

i’ve always digged this band. the new album is definitely and evolution for them. digging it though!

  9. Malacoda says:

Pretty good, actually. Very experimental… and no breakdowns! I may have to get this.

  10. Malacoda says:

    * not too many.

  11. Sean says:

I like it, never heard their music before so may have to give their earlier stuff a listen.

  12. Dr J says:

Better than I expected, considering they’re headlining the No Care Ever tour.

    • Dr J says:

I’ve been listening to this album for almost an hour now, doing nothing else but lsitening, and I have to say this is really awesome stuff. Favorite tracks right now are Saturine, Violence in Flu, I Lost My Loss, and Playlist In Static. I’ll definitely buy this.

  13. Jake says:

i’m only a few songs into it, but this album is sounding pretty good. i think the game of life is crazier, but i’ll still get portals as soon as i can.

    • Kyle says:

Totaly feel you on that on man. So far, i perfer the vocal work on “TGOL” but this is turning out to be a pretty good album.

  14. CJ says:

Love it so far. Don’t have time to listen to it all though. Definitely a step up in the song-writing from The Game of Life, and I loved that record. I’ll be picking this up the day it comes out.

  15. 36thoughtless says:

This band really isn’t one that’s been on my radar, but this album has definitely piqued my interest in them. A buy possibly…

  16. Ryd1ZZ says:

Never listened to these guys before. Thanks again for a great recommendation, this cd is badass.

  17. Andy says:

considering half of the original band members from Hits From The Bow and The Game Of Life arent in the band anymore its still a pretty epic album. but its no doubt different than their earlier stuff.

  18. Shae says:

    Ewwwww!
You guys are bad without Cameron and Remmy
Too progressive, bad breakdowns (if thats what you wanna call them)
Good sweeps, but the synth is worse than before.
Sounds like the game of life with down syndrome.
You guys used to be my favorite band! :[

  19. Shae says:

I take the part back about the synth haha

  20. Tucker says:

I really don’t like this album as much as the others.
There are a few parts where it sounds like Embrace The End, which is tight as fuck.
I really hope they play old songs on the tour that they’re on now
Even though they no longer have Remmy.
I think I’m going to stop listening to them now.

    • Thomas says:

I agree it was much better with their old screamer, no one sounded like him and he added a lot of originality to the band.

  21. Fong Chung says:

HAHAHAHAHA this band is REALLY REALLY horrible. How can you enjoy this horrid shit. No talent, and sorry but their plenty of better bands out there today.

    • Strep Townsend says:

Yeah, this shit just sounds like Hip Hop with Keyboards and death metal vocals to me.
A lot of the new so-called ” metal” bands sound like this and it’s just disgraceful.

      • Ben says:

Nobody cares about your elitist shit.

        • Jake says:

How is it “elitist” to dislike shitty music because the music is shitty? Are you elitist because you dislike certain music? It’s only elitist if you dismiss a band without actually giving the a listen first. Personally, I think what I’ve heard of the new album is a step up from their early works, but it’s still not something I enjoy at all. Does that make me ‘elitist?”

          • Jimmy says:

I think you’re missing the point of what Ben was getting at. It’s elitist to think that throwing in a keyboard (and apparently hip hop beats, which arent even on this album) to metal is “disgraceful”.

            Protip: it isnt.

          • hate-crew says:

no youre a fucking elitist if you turn yourself into a musical nazi and try to slam a band just because it doesnt fit in to your narrow view of music.

      • Leroy Jenkins says:

How on earth does this sound at all like hip hop with keyboards? Can we TRY to make sense here?

      • 1337HammerBro says:

obviously this strep townsend has no idea what he is talking about if she thinks
these synths sound like hip hop beats.

  22. Brad says:

god i forgot how ignorant people are,

you guys suck with cameron and remmy? Then dont listen stupid ass! They reconnected with original members and made a completely original more mature album.

great job, its something new, and it is fucking heavy,

  23. Sam says:

hahahaha the ending of Tea Time TIbbons is a fucking trip!!!

  24. I FUCKING LOVE THIS BAND, THEY ARE THE BEST BAND EVER PERIOD!!!!!
and if anyone has to say anything other then that, then you can just go
    Fuck yourselves ;D

  25. always been a fan of these guys, each album has been quite different in its own right. This just shows more progression. I dig it

  26. I’ve been listening to AGATG for the last 4 years or so and they have done nothing but excell.
To anyone who says this isn’t original can suck my left nut.

If you listen to there song I got invited to the orgy, but the orgy didn’t invite me, then listen to Portals, you’ll hear how different they have gotten.
I give much props to these guys.

  27. XCHOCOLATE_THUNDERX says:

i dont know if anyone brought this up yet because i didnt red all of the comments but the art is NOT done by benjamin lande its done by chad lenjer AKA discordant art (as is CUNTs and Dance clubs)

    i thinks its cool personally

but i havent listened to the whole thing yet but its okay so far

  28. randy says:

i atually expected it to suck without Cameron and Remi but it’s sounds pretty good. But of course it does it’s Arsonists Get All The Fucking Girls!

  29. HagstromSpeed says:

I love their previous work..but this tops everything they’ve done, so much more progressive and the vocals sound better

  30. DEFACE CHASE says:

I think this album is a step up progressively compaired to Hits From The Bowel and The Game Of Life. It seems to have a bit more crunch and more constructive parts. Although, I really miss Remmy and Cameron.. It just doesn’t seem as random and crazy as it once was and thats something i really enjoyed about this band. It looks like they really sat down and wrote an album and I’m proud of those dudes. I believe this album is going to put them out there like never before. I’m def. going to pick this album up. I have the other two and it would be a shame if this one wasn’t purchased.

  31. Manny says:

    Pre-ordering!

  32. J-C says:

Idk… I have enjoyed Arsonists Get All the Girls ever since i’ve enjoyed the core genres. But this album, although i will admit is exceptional and its clear they’ve put much time and effort in constructing this, simply isn’t like the old them; and i mean that in a bad way. The high pitches of their ex-singer I used to love, and the technicality of their previous work was much more “fun” and crazy. i dont know any better words to describe it. Although they’ve matured, I’ve enjoyed the immature version better, kind of like The Number 12 Looks Like You with their “out of control” sound. I’ll probably get bashed on for this, but this is just my opinion.

  33. Sean says:

This is a great album…but i refuse to buy it without having Remi in it

  34. buttflopp says:

cd sounds awesome. musicianship has improved by alot since the game of life.
but the only thing i dont like (which is a big thing) is it doesnt sound like an AGATG album. if this were by any other band, it would be incredible (and it is incredible) but without the old vocals, its just not AGATG to me.

  35. Bryan says:

I’m not gonna lie, its a very good album. Some songs do have a bit of an annoying random shit too it but other songs are great. Could be better and they’d be better off with that ending like in Playact In Static i think is. Annoying as shit. But other songs are really good in my opinion. Doesn’t beat Hits From the Bow or The Game Of Life though.

  36. buttflopp says:

though i’d suggest everyone listens to the banjo song at 13:25 in the last track

  37. groverXIII says:

I may actually check this out… there seems to be a lot of love for these guys, who I generally assumed were another shitty -core band.

    • bkjhuihikhjkhkjh says:

      you may check this out?
all it takes is a click of the mouse at the top of the screen, dude.

      • groverXIII says:

Yeah, but I have to do it when I’m not at work (which I was when I posted this), or download it and load it up on my mp3 player so I can listen to it while I’m working.

As it is, I’m currently listening to this album, and I’m surprised that it’s pretty good. The keyboards break up what might otherwise be monotony. It’s not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s not too bad at all.

  38. hate-crew says:

this album is fantastic. this is the album hundreds of other prog-core bands wish they wrote.

  39. Ben says:

It’s so incredibly rare for a metal band to not only create three GREAT albums, but to also mature and develop their sound while doing so. I love this album. Favorite band ever.

  40. Patrick says:

The synth is a bit much for me. And his vocals arent that great IMO.
Good work though, I’m not gonna hate on a band just because I’m not feeling it. I just dont like hardly any bands like this.

“My Cups Half Empty” is a good song.

    • hate-crew says:

honestly, that is one of the most respectable comments i’ve read on this site. thanks for not being a douche bag. \m/

  41. Bamboo Steamer says:

I wanna like this because thier older stuf is so good, but……………. this is just too different, its not bad by any means, it just sounds like it deserves a different band name, MATURITY IS FOR LOSERS STAY THE SAME AGATG!!!

  42. Timzee says:

My mom wont let me listen to this stuff… being a teenager is tough!

  43. ayyron says:

i have been listening to these guys before there first album was even out. this is by far one of there best produced albums.
the game of life is still my personal favorite.
but in this album there vocals are way clearer and just over all better sounding.
i also like the trance feel to this one.

and to anyone that doesn’t like them. then dotn listen to the fucking album. imsick of people trying to put a label on them just because they dont appreciate there music.

arsonist get all the girls is only one thing.

    GOOD FUCKING MUSIC.

  44. xkennyx says:

This is AMAZING what is with people?! It’s still very dark and minor sounding, and also insanely weird happy harmonies and drums, still has amazing keyboard parts like the old albums, it’s really heavy…. Its still got the same 2 step beats that have ALWAYS been an AGATG original.. THis album is pretty core too. and although i miss the old vox this new guy also has a unique style and so they’ve kept the AGATG style. ITs GREAT!!!!!

    • tho-man says:

true dat. allot of people are saying how this album is SO different but mainly the only thing that drastically changed is the vocals. there’s more keys and improved all round musicianship, but those changes are neither bad nor enough to not recognize AGATG for who they once were

  45. OSSSCAARRR says:

i love all of AGATGS shit and the reason they sound different is because they have a new vocalist. everyone needs to stop judging this band because they are fucking sick

  46. Kevin says:

I liked the older shit better
    But I still dig it.
    Definitely buying

  47. Mitchy says:

I was in Allentown for their tour, and they were bad fucking ass!!! amazing…
They played like 2 new songs and 3 or 4 old songs,
The Game Of Life, Claiming Middle Age A Decade Early and others, it was awesome :D can’t wait to get this sounds so fuckin amazing

  48. bitchssss says:

i played guitar hero one time

  49. Grand_pa says:

i love this new cd, has all the quirks that make agatg them. the new vocalist is good, still wish it was their original vocalist but this new one suits their new sound, the only thing i could ask for more would have to be them using their second vocalist/keyboardist to do a duel vocal track like in hits from the bow their first cd. i think with those two tag teaming this shit it would be even better.

  50. fuzzit says:

holy shit just from the intro to the first song i can tell this is gonna be a sickk album. glad to see these guys r still making good stuff. Cant wait for the release party/gig in Santa Cruz, gonna be so intense

  51. grind till death says:

No gay clean vocals, thats all that matters. It’s pretty dope i think. For all the changes they went through.

  52. mmmmhoy says:

    Old agatg was great.
    This is great.
    Great!

  53. Schuy says:

    Hot shit. im ready

  54. dayran says:

    Thanks…
