ANYONE STILL CARE ABOUT SKINLAB?

If you do, here’s their new video, for the track “In for the Kill.” Note the stunning subtlety of the metaphor the director chose for the video. It’s thought-provoking, esoteric nature may confuse some fans, but for those of us willing to give it some thought, it’s just genius. Pure genius.

I’ve never heard of the band before, but somehow i became dissapointed within the length of the song. most songs you know if there gunna suck within the first 30 sec, this one started out average, but they seemed to keep building up momentum for some breakdown or solo, and after the standard chug-chug riff/breakdown, they fell right back too the pre-breakdown part. LAME

  2. did anyone ever care about skinlab….?

  3. 'lil billy says:

The use of MMA in music videos seems to be rather popular these days.

  4. BlakMetallistKrieg says:

This is the second worst kind of heavy music next to that whiny emo/screamo crap. This hatebreed-esqu metal/hardcore crossover is just so bland. Where are all the good RIFFS?! Oh yeah, Mastodon used them all up, I forgot.

  5. timmah says:

    sounds pretty stock to me

  6. You Don't Know Me says:

Skinlab were never anything amazing. They had some okay songs here and there. They haven’t done anything noteworthy since ReVolting Room though, and even that album only had like 3 good songs on it.

    • Johnny Death says:

Did Revolting Room have 3 good songs? I think i tried listening to it 3 times and decided it was dog poo

  7. ceth says:

WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A BORN OF OSIRIS REVIEW YET?
WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A JOB FOR A COWBOY REVIEW YET?

  9. mike says:

lol, I remember loving the song ‘Know your enemies’ and going to see the Earth Crisis/In Flames/Skin Lab show in Columbus when I was 19 and leaving after Skin Lab. Maybe one of the biggest mistakes of my life…

  10. Pedro says:

I know that one of the fighters is Nate Quarry, but I can’t figure out the other one. Anyone know who the other one is?

  11. NikZherdev says:

I loved Skinlab back in the day, was real into Disembody and RevoltingRoom…glad to see they’re back. Reminds me of my happy nu-metal youth

  12. turdferguson says:

sounds ok to me….cool dudes too.

  13. Randy says:

Uh oh. Somebody better tell Shadows Fall before they film their new video. I heard that they were recruiting people to be in the video and MMA fighters also. I think Shadows Fall just need to make a video of the band ripping new music that hopefully will remind us why we started liking them in the first place (Of One Blood and The Art of Balance)

  14. Strep Townsend says:

Skip this and buy the new Suffocation disc.

  15. Noel says:

skinlabs first and second cds are kick ass 90s mid pased metal. they have numerous awsome songs within those 2 discs. That being said, the rest of their stuff is meh…this new skinlab seems to be a rehash cd ment for the act of touring. but still, YES, some people DO care about skinlab.

  16. Fong Chung says:

SkinLab was a terrible terrible Machine Head clone, and tried to sound like Neurosis also on their first record. Why the fuck did this terrible band ever come back? I mean, it’s probably because they’re riding Machine Head’s coattails for a quick buck lol. I mean Machine Head isn’t so great either, but still Skinlab is just flat out embarassing. Skinlab is music meant for the bar. They’re up there with DamagePlan, Budweiser beer, Nascar racing, and Sister Christian. Everyone on the Machine Head message board nutrides this band, and of course anything popular at the moment. If you tried to mention the new Suffocation record or Ulcerate disc they would ignore you.

  17. Fong Chung says:

Plus SkinLab is what I call “Meth” Metal too hahaha. Someone tell their fat smelly singer to lay off meth, and stop sucking Robb Flynn’s cock.

  18. cantbeboughtorsold says:

    no

  19. Dustin at Metal Blade says:

Job For A Cowboy= Kick ass death metal
    Skinlab= Shitty nu metalish meh

  20. Mark says:

when pain comes to surface was good. most of disembody was good. they lost me after that and this song does nothing to get me back.

  21. Colin says:

What is with all the Skinlab hate? They had some good stuff

  22. The Goat says:

Skinlab is still HEAVIER than any of the nu-deathcore bands like handjob for a cowboy butt-sex or suicide silence. So talk all the smack you want, nu-deathcore IS NOT REAL DEATH METAL!!!!

  23. gnarlk says:

dear lord, bad metal and MMA all in one package, i may faint from the sheer awesomeness…

  24. kyle says:

skinlabs ok for some of their songs like scapegoat, and no sympathy(for the devil) but id rather hear some as blood runs black or amon amarth
