UK retro-thrashers Evile don’t do much for me, but I’m aware that a lot of you are fans. So I’m doing my bloggerly duty and telling you that they have a new song, “Infected Nations,” now streaming on their MySpace page. It’s the title track for the band’s new album, which Earache will release on September 22.

Generally speaking, I think it’s a pretty good song. But I don’t feel very passionate about it. Tell me why I’m an idiot in the comments section below.

I can’t say you are an idiot for not really liking Evile. After al,l people tell me I am a complete fucking retard for strongly disliking Nevermore. Actually it is Warrel Dane’s voice that I despise. The very sound of it makes me want to drop to my knees and forcefully thrust my jugular into the corner of a coffee table until I die. But the music is just fine. That aside though, this song fucking KILLS! It is like the best moments of early Metallica, Testament and Sepultura combined into one delicious slab of thrash :) Just my opinion though…I’m sure just as many will hate it.

I’m actually not digging the new song that much… something about Matt’s voice on it. It kind of sounds as if he’s grunting too much, and trying to sound like Max Cavalera or something. Awesome intro, though.

Way to post this about a month after my tip-off. xD

I wouldn’t say you’re an idiot. I would say that this track pwns, however, and that Evile is probably my favorite of all these neo-thrash bands.

  5. Dysenteric says:

I can fully understand why you wouldn’t feel completely passionate about it. This new track is the first Evile song that I can somewhat tolerate, but it just doesn’t do it for me. Doesn’t seem to have any force or aggression to it.

Incidentally, one thrash band that’s got a new full-length coming soon that I wholeheartedly recommend is F.K.Ü. Fucking excellent stuff!

Now, I haven’t gotten to listen to the damn song yet cause I have to update the laptop. But everyone seems to be drawing comparisons to Sepultura, and doesn’t that cover look strangely like Arise? or is it just me?
Any who, if it sounds in the same league as any thing off Arise it should be at least enjoyable lol

Infected Nations reminds me of Ruination by Job for a Cowboy. Too bad metalsucks won’t review it.

  8. groverXIII says:

Evile are pretty good, but they sound a lot like Slayer (at least, on the first album they do).

  9. Kevin says:

Seriously whats not to like about this song?

  10. CrapMcPoopin says:

They play sloppy thrash metal that Slayer and Testament both did better years ago. That is why you’re not passionate about it.

    • Strep Townsend says:

Agreed, this band does nothing for me too.
      Most thrash in general sucks.

    • sYgnal says:

I wouldn’t call it sloppy, it’s just not Trigger-Ridden. IMHO, I think this song sounds too much like Darkane, but, I would still say it is better than anything new from Slayer or Testament. Ofcourse, it doesn’t hold a candle to South of Heaven or The New Order.

Yet another Vagina style album cover…. noice.

  12. sYgnal says:

I wouldn’t call you an idiot… Their last album was better, but, I give’em credit for trying to sound like a different thrash band than Slayer. Honestly, I think that might be their ulterior motive – To sound like a different Thrash band on each album…Hmm…

Granted, I may like their stuff but I’d say pass up on this new rehashed Thrash and pick up either the new Maritone album or Alkotrio’s Baranina from 2008. Some killer fusion.

Yes…the cover looks like something from Arise
