Ignorant? No. Simple? Maybe, but then you’re pretty much calling every average person simple, too. Palin made a great target for the liberal journalists to shred, because she’s a non-black/non-liberal/non-gay female who didn’t bend over and take it in the ass from the media when they expected her to. She’s not stupid, by any means, and if she’s not great at public speaking, well, when Obama doesn’t have his teleprompter up and running, I’ve yet to see him speak like a president should – even casually. People gave Bush shit about that, but in informal interviews where he wasn’t reading prepared speeches, he was perfectly normal – and the inability to speak well from a prepared document isn’t uncommon at all, if you haven’t spent much time in schools lately. Glenn Beck is by no means stupid, simple, or ignorant, but he is opinionated (when’s that been a bad thing?) and defends those opinions against all comers.

I’m a libertarian (small l), so I have no desire to keep the two-party system going, but it seems like the rote response from so many liberals whenever anyone takes an opposing stance is to point, scream “YOU’RE AN IDIOT!” and try to drown out any form of rational debate with increasingly loud repetition of that same phrase. It’s evidently ok for the media, and the common person, to make fun of Bush, Palin, or really any conservative, but when it gets switched up on them, they freak. It’s disgusting. If you want to fling mud, you shouldn’t have a personal aversion to getting mud thrown back at you.

Agreed about the movies. Michael Bay is a hack director, the GI JOE movie is going to suck balls ( i wish I could sue Hollywood for decimating my childhood memories) and the original Pelham movie is much better than the current over the top re-make.

As for Palin, Hannity…the hatred has nothing to do with them being conservative, it’s that they are just simple-mined, ingnorant and mean-spirited people, that’s all. This whole liberal/conservative debate needs to stop in this country. A politician is a politician is a politician. Same for the pundit’s for either side. They are all out for themselves and to live off the backs of us, the common citizens. They just go about it in different ways. Wise up.

You do realise people actually called Obama the “messiah” during his campaign, and being as socialism is just a small step away from communism – and Obama is a socialist – calling him a commie isn’t really that far off? I rarely watch any news any more, since it’s all extremely biased one way or the other – CNN and MSNBC being disgustingly liberal, Fox simply trying to act as their counterbalance, so they all fail at objective journalism – but if you’d actually stop for a second and instead of playing the righteous indignation bit and listen to what Beck says, about the new healthcare plan for instance, you might realise he’s not a screaming idiot. Yes, some of his stances are a bit off, but that doesn’t make everything he says wrong.
