After listening to this alot, i really really like this record! The songs are kindof all over the place, but also more cohesive than Suck Out the Poison in their transitions from metal to pop rock. I do miss the heavier breakdowns and vox of their other records, but over all i really dig this. The guitar playing on here is excellent and I love the sublte hints of Meshuggah and Pantera on here. This record would make Dimebag proud.

I love Suck out the Poison quite a bit. There are a few uneven parts on there, but for the most part that record was grreat. I just picked this up, so u havent gotten to absorb it yet, but so far it seems a little spacier and more dirt rock than the southern metal vibe on "Suck out...". Also, there doesnt seem to be any growling vocals on here either. The vocals are alot more even than their past records and almost have a Patton vibe on a few of the tracks.

This cd is incredible. I always think they can't top their previous effort and they always manage to prove me wrong.

Agreed. Half of this review is spent trashing Suck Out The Poison, which I quite enjoyed for what it was.

franco, i was at that show, and while i do agree HIL's set was horrible, it was less to do with the band, and more to do with the opening bands still getting accustomed to the hi-tech automated mixing unit they were using on the tour. the next night in boston, HIL souned 100x better.

anso, i hope this review was based on the correct version of the album, not the slowed down manufacturing error version.

and also “Party Time!” (Head Automatica)

OMG, HEAD AUTOMATICA HAS A SONG CALLED PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, AND HIL SAYS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IN THE SONG, SO THEY ARE COMPARABLE EVEN THOUGH THEY SOUND NOTHING ALIKE!

perhaps you should compare it to the smiths too while you are at it

i saw this band when they opened for chimaira in 2007 at the palladium in mass, and i gotta say, while i know nothing of their music, it was by far the worst performance i've ever seen in my life. in fact, they practically got booed off the stage by a very angry man in the balcony who insisted that they "GET SOME BIGGER PANTS"
