Well shit. Burst is/was great. Lazarus Bird is one amazing album. I will grieve for a few minutes and then get on with my life. No one band is worth getting depressed about. Well, Pantera hit me pretty hard. And if Clutch calls it quits I just might die.

First, the last few albums were awesome. However, honestly, they should be happy that Relapse put up with their shit this whole time. I highly doubt Relapse gripped about the album (other than the mixing being godawful, as it was on last album to) but from the beginning Burst have been ridiculous pretentious artists who refused to do the work that it takes to survive as an underground band. If you want to make it you need to tour your ass off!

Mastodon are who they are now because they spent 10 months a year in the same small van, criss-crossing the US. No matter how groundbreaking the sound, if they never got out on the road, no one would have heard them.

Some friends of mine saw them live in Athens Greece and they were told by the band
that Relapse didn’t like Lazarus Bird.
Also it was obvious that the band was as bonded as it was on past appearances.

San news indeed and I haven’t seen them live yet and maybe won’t.
