EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE: ARSONISTS GET ALL THE GIRLS, “THE 42ND EGO”
Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 at 1:00pm by MetalSucksMetalSucks is proud to present the exclusive debut of “The 42nd Ego,” the new video from Arsonists Get All the Girls. Directed by Jeremy Weiss, the clip is not the kind of apoplectic video we’re so accustomed to in metal these days, opting instead for a style that allows the viewer to concentrate on the sheer power of the song – which, like all of AGATG’s best work, seamlessly combines elements of death, hardcore and experimental.
Check out the video below. The track appears on Arsonists Get All the Girls’ awesome new album, Portals, which you can purchase here. And don’t forget that AGATG are tour right now; go to their MySpace page for a complete list of dates.

Everytime I listen to these guys they’re awesome.
I like both albums.
But I saw them live with the Agonist and others and they did not grab my attention live at all. Very disappointing.
For the life of me, I will never understand why anyone thought it was a good idea to put keyboards that make Nintendo noises in anything remotely resembling metal. Can someone please explain the appeal to me? Or else can someone please blow up the warehouse where these fucking things are made?
I kinda like it… I can’t really explain why. It’s different, I guess. Although to this point, HORSE The Band are the only ones to really do it halfway decent.
Agreed, HORSE did it well, but this sounds pretty shitty.
went to the show last night. after synt left. arsonist is just a gimmick, there times up. its time for them to get off tour and go home.
you neglect to mention the obvious crabcore influence
Great choreography!
hey another deathcore band with ironic keyboards AWESOME
needs more wiggerish arm movements
fuck this bullshit
I haven’t felt the music this much since SOiL’s “Halo” video!
this band is a joke
They actually did start off as a joke band.
I’ll admit, Portals is better than I actually expected it to be… it’s definitely grown on me, but most of the time they still come across as a half-assed HORSE The Band ripoff.
not really
i think agatg is definitely influenced by horse the band
but they’re a bit heavier than horse the band is
This is meh. HORSE the band rocks though!
fuckk… someone get this band a new drummer
Love these guys, their albums are always on point and fresh to death.
I like this entire album. This track especially. That intro really gets my blood pumping.
Why is no one making fun of the leaping? they spring about like aerobics instructors and no one finds this even slightly amusing?
Heh….this is rap for white boys, and I hate rap.
The choreography is hilarious. Boring music and wtf is with the keyboard.
Disappointing video. Know these guys – so would love to support them regardless of how good or bad they are, and they have actually worked very hard to get where they are… so they with out a doubt earned it… nobody just gave this to them… but the video could have been way better. The song is good for them, they keep getting better. But watch poison the well’s “botchla” – this director ripped off some shots from that for sure. And the cinematography was close to being good. Key word… close. They kept the shots too wide a lot of the time. Needed more close ups for more intensity.
And it sucked once it went back to the other locations shown previously in the video… thats where the video started to linger. They either needed more locations, or a concept to be inner cut with it to fix this. No buenop on the slow mo too. I feel like the director blew it, and when they were editing they ran out of things to cut so they had to go back and show the other locations again. Not the bands fault… just the shitty director. Sorry Jeremy…but it’s true!!!! Probably over charged for this video too. HAHA too bad.
WOW! I totally disagree with the above comment made by AJG. What are you talking about? “Botchla” doesn’t look anything like this video. The cinematography was just fine. The quality of the video is not the best, image looks stretched but it clearly has nothing to do with cinematography.
I’m not a fan of this song. However, I think the video saved the song. And for that I applaud the director!
Fuck who ever doesnt like the key boards Sean thats shit was so sick I love you AGATG
This is probably the most generic and boring song on the album.
I love Portals, but this song is just meh…
Hewson, you’re a douchebag. Look at the beginning shot of “botchla”. It is a pan down from a wooden ceiling in a cement warehouse. That exact same shot is used twice in this video….the exact same shot…twice. So don’t argue about shit you don’t know about. And the cinematography (which is literally the shots being filmed, obviously you’re an idiot so I have to explain this to you) was not very good. They had some good angles, but needed more close ups. Guaranteed this would have made the video better. I wanted to see more of Garin… and his drum work, and Arthur’s shredding…but instead we saw medium wide shots of them hopping around. Look… the video is good. Just could have been better. As someone who knows film, and is in the Music Video business… don’t fux wit dis… ok? AGATG is the shit, and this video is good only because of them. And I will defend my comment that the video should have continued to progress to new locations instead of going back to the old ones. It didn’t look good, and you obviously are too closed minded to see that artistically it would have been a cooler video and would keep peoples attention more if it did so. Suck a dick Hewson.
Oh yeah and to clarify… I didn’t say the video looked like Botchla… I said some shots were ripped off from it. watch the two and you’ll see.
How’s this any good really? Just primitive and boring.
Speaking of HTB… where is the news about their new album. It should be sweet as balls.
They have a new song, “Shapeshifter”, posted on their MySpace… it’s okay, but I’m still hoping they can recapture the glory of The Mechanical Hand.
“Oh, it’s not metal unless it’s exactly like the metal I like!”
Grow up and learn to appreciate some talented dudes who decided to take it a little more seriously and have something to say. They’re new stuff is good, just different.
Playing metal (you wish) with those rapper-ass-bitch moves just sices the whole thing up!
The keyboard player sure did a nice job sucking the metal out of the metal band.
Duuuuude, eeeeeeh.
I can’t lie, portals is an okay album at best. Just cause its Arsonists.
This new vocalist sounds just like all the other mediocre vocals in every other band such as Bring Me The Horizon, Job For A cowboy, Killwhitneydead, etc.
I liked the last vocalist better. This new album sounds like its just trying to conform to the current fad of redundant “death core/death metal” bands. Pretty soon they’re gonna sound like all the other bands.
I can’t even tell some bands apart at this point.
Arsonists really let me down when they chose their new vocalist to have such a deep voice as opposed to that loud, grimy, high scream.
This band lured me in with just one song “Shoeshine For Neptune”
This new cd is a giant step away from that.
If you’re new to arsonists take a listen to “HIts From The Bow” and the 2nd album “Game Of Life”
You’ll soon see what i’m talking about.
