Luckily, “Coast,” the new video from The Devin Townsend Project, is a) pretty cool, and b) pretty mellow. Hopefully this will prevent me from going from Banner to Hulk in sixty seconds. But no promises.
And with a little luck, there will be some chances to see Townsend play live sometime in 2010.

I’m in, this week is balls so far. Weather sucks to boot, this video did nothing for me..just made me angrier. A little off topic but it’s making me look forward to Friday nights’ (shit)talked about grind showcase. Infact…all the coverage is pissing me off too.
Very cool video… creepy, but it goes perfectly with the music.

lol, if only you understood the legacy that is Devin Townsend and you wouldnt sound like such a closed minded fucking douche…learn your musicians man, and dont worry…the,”trendy ass alternative garbage” will get heavier with the albums that follow this….this entire album was meant to lay low and be mellow. DOESNT mean its still not technical, listen to the bass lines that run under his leads…or wait, “The low booming noises over the shitty alternative guitar.”
Agreed…most of these people miss the point of the record entirely.
Anyone who knows Devs body of work can appreciate KI, and if this album isn’t heavy enough for you simpletons then go listen to Ocean Machine or Physicist.
I agree. Most Townsend fans can appreciate all of his work. For example, I’m not a huge fan of Devlab or The Hummer. I’m just not really into ambient. But, I can still respect and appreciate what he was trying to accomplish. You just really cannot deny the fact that the man is a complete genius.
I’m a huge Townsend fan and I love Ki, but this particular song has nothing to do with metal, it sounds more like Radiohead
It’s a love/hate kinda album. I do like mellow, ambient stuff…But seriously, what was the point of one Brit-pop song, one Post-rock song, one Nu-metal song…? Obviously, he didn’t try hard on this record.
Coast is one of my favorite tracks off of KI, and I can’t wait for the next album.
Townsend is GOD.
I’d also like to Give a nod to Kevin Moore and OSI, if you liked Ki or just good music in general, you should check out OSI- BLOOD.
