    “METAL. AS. FUCK.”

    indeed it is

  • There has been a lot of cool cover art coming out lately, more than likely though I am just not looking in the right places.

  • likmybaseballz says:

    indeed, in-fucking-deed

  • Malevolus says:

That ranks up there with the cover art from the new Heaven and Hell album.

    • ozzyzak says:

It’s quite a bit better than the Heaven and Hell album, which to me just looked silly.

      • Tommy Lindbergsen says:

The Heaven and Hell cover is metal as fuck this cover way sillier looking.

        • Tommy Lindbergsen says:

Have any of you guys ever bought an album based on the cover art, knowing nothing of the band?

          • Metal Fuckin' Dave says:

Yep, Iron Maiden’s Number of the Beast in 1985. Changed my life.

          • Hassman says:

            Too many to name, sadly.

          • I’ve downloaded lots of bands’ stuff because they had intriguing album art…like Elder’s self-titled or Outre by Portal, but I would never purchase a physical copy of an album without checking it out thoroughly beforehand, I don’t have that kinda money to throw around if I don’t know what I’m getting into

          • Tommy Lindbergsen says:

Slayer-Reign in Blood I bought for the cover art and ended up really liking the music.
Dream Theater- Images and Words is another one. I like covers by Dan Seagrave who does work for Suffocation, Demon Hunter and Decrepit Birth among many others.
Psycroptic has awesome cover art too.

            Sepultura – Chaos A.D.

            My life changed that day.

          • Drakodan says:

I’d heard a bit of Mastodon, but when I saw Crack the Skye in a music shop, I took one look at the album cover went to the checkout with it.

      • metalguy says:

heaven and hells music didnt match the album which made it sillier

  • Toxteth O'Grady says:

    WANT

  • Dan says:

Great cover, and it doesn’t look all computer-y.

  • pdf says:

Now that is a metal album cover. Can’t wait to hear this album.

  • samthebrutal says:

OOOO-aaahhhhh, Looks insanely brutal, can’t wait for the album to come out.

  • groverXIII says:

Pretty cool… it’s a pity they didn’t get Jon Baizley to draw up another album cover for them, though.

  • steverazor says:

Met these guys in Dallas opening for Amon Amarth – cool guys and an awesome set. First day buyer.

  • Ryd1ZZ says:

Man, I am fucking stoked about this album. The artwork is great and I am very confident that it will slay.

  • I love this band and I’m definitely looking forward to this album, but I like the Beyond The Permafrost art much better

  • Chud says:

Not too subtle. I’m digging it.

  • Ziltoid says:

    Now that’s a good album cover…

  • TXHellbilly says:

Saw these guys open for Danzig last year and they were fuckin brutal. This new album will surely not disappoint. First day buy here for sure!

  • big_metal_al says:

Fucking AWESOME cover! Worship the witch bitch!!

  • John says:

I used to watch this band when they were local to athens

  • Tyler says:

I love the codpiece. Has to be the most metal codpiece EVER!

  • Charlie B says:

The Good: Album cover is over the top cheesy like most old thrash covers. But still I’m not into thrash revival. I listen to the original bands if I wanted to listen to good thrash.

    • stu1 says:

I really don’t think they’re part of that. There’s thrash elements and shit, but I don’t lump them in with Municipal Waste and what not.

  • MetalMatt says:

    Worship the ‘Witch!!!

  • Business Casual says:

My most anticipated album of the year (along with Baroness). Saw them a few days ago with Trap Them / Savious and they smote (smited? were in to the smiting? had us smitten?)… er, they destroyed. This was on Friday in STL and the guitarist had JUST received the artwork that day… he showed me on his phone (sans band logo / album title)… I remember thinking, “do I need another PBR?,” which was immediately followed by, “that cover is rad,” followed shortly thereafter by, “I wish John Baizley had done it, though.”

In any event, they played something like two or three new tunes, all of which seemed a bit heavier / death-y, less NWOBHM-y. For the most part, though, it was still blackened thrash like only they (and Absu, IMO) can deliver.

    Viva The Witch!

  • vikingfromhell890 says:

    Holy shit!

  • bearwizard says:

  • axe says:

  • JRTME says:

  • TMR says:

cliche or not, Metal As Fuck indeed … unless skulls, death, flames, and all out destruction is not metal anymore… emo?

  • ETIDIOT says:

I just recently checked these guys out. Pretty sick riffs. I’ll definitely be checking the new album out in October. The artwork looks fucking epic.

  • TheHardG says:

I cant wait to hear this album, badass album art for sure. I just hope the cd booklet is filled with more cool ass art for them to throw on a shirt.

  • Jerrod says:

Idk, I love Skeletonwitch but Beyond The Permafrost’s cover was waaaaaaay more epic.
