THE DESTRO PREPARE BRUTAL NEW ALBUM; ARTWORK REVEALED!

the destro - harmony of discordOur favorite “old school brutal style” Texas metallers The Destro — recipients of my unofficial “best performance of New England Metalfest ’09” award — are fucking back, baby. MetalSucks is thrilled to be able to reveal the cover artwork for their new record Harmony of Discord, which will be released on October 13th through Ironclad Recordings. The band hired an all-star cast of characters to assist in the studio this time around; Harmony of Discord was produced & mixed by Unearth’s Ken Susi and was mastered by the infamous James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament). The brutal artwork you see above was created by Joe Hickman @ Dreams Like Fire Design.

We haven’t heard anything from the record yet, but it promises to be groovy and brutal. Brush up on old Destro material on their newly revamped MySpace page.

      The clipping-masked chains are what do it for me. That is a very poorly designed album cover.

    Im super fucking stoked for this. The Destro are one of the if not the most underrated band in Metal and have the best power grooves iv’e heard since Pantera.

      Best power groove since Pantera…..?? “best” and “Power groove” are oxymorons. Were these guys a glam band before they jumped shipped and rode the band wagon to groove stardom like Pantera?

          nah. Exhorder did. Pantera was a sissy glam band with lipstick and feathered hair before they heard Exhorder and went ‘groove’ and took a bunch of red necks’ money.

    Horrible artwork, horrible band. These crappy CGI/Photoshop shit is a boil on the ass of metal. However, it does serve the unique purpose of informing me when a band is garbage to begin with. These plastic covers are a good representation of the shallow, compressed, soul-less music within.
    I’ll take a cheesy 80′s airbrush painting over this crap any day.

    Metalucifer??? Now those Japs can make a killer album cover. Heavy Metal Chainsaw and Heavy Metal Bulldozer SCREAM metal.

    Young Biff,I agree..there is no way in hell people can write soulful music with that kind of an album cover..you can always read a book by its cover. I was thinking maybe an angry monster with chainsaws for arms with grenade eyes riding a bulldozer in a lightning storm made with map colors…now that’s metal….and the cheaper looking the better right??!

      no, you can’t always judge a book by it’s cover, but a lot of times, in metal, you can. This kind of sterile,generic artwork is a general indication of the music within. This looks like a mid 90′s PC game.
