BLACK ANVIL EXCLUSIVE MP3 DOWNLOAD – “MARGIN FOR TERROR”

black anvil - time insults the mindBlack Anvil’s much anticipated record Time Insults the Mind doesn’t come out until September 1st, but we’ve got a brand new track available for free download today, right here. Black Anvil are from right here in NYC and recently signed with Philly-based Relapse Records. Their brand of blackened, crusty, punk-influenced metal is captured perfectly in the new recording; it’s raw, dingy and full of unbridled energy, but with enough clarity to allow a bit of breathing room between instruments.

The band has a string of dates this weekend with Marduk and Withered, starting today in Baltimore, hitting Philly tomorrow and NYC on Saturday. Details and more music on Black Anvil’s MySpace page.

Enjoy.

If by ‘much anticipated’ you mean ‘been out for at least a year’, then yeah.

Enough with the “black-insert noun here” band names already. The words Black and Wolf, as cool as they are on their own, have become a crutch for laziness when it comes to coming up with a badass band name. Can we put a moratorium on those, please?

Enjoyment here. Sounds kind of like Satyricon, which is a very good thing.

  • Santa Claus

    This CD is badass.

A black metal album endorsed by Santa? I don’t know whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, Santa’s been naughty.
