This Ziltoid guy is pathetic. There is no ‘core’ about TBDM, end of discussion. You’ve obviously never listened to their music because there aren’t any fucking breakdowns in it. I guarantee that you’re pushing 35 and can’t accept that TBDM are the best Death Metal band coming up through the ranks. They’ve paid their dues, and respected the greats before them. If they consider themselves Death Metal, their fans do as well, and they’re headlining tours with other Death Metal bands, chances are… they’re Death Metal! Get it through you thick skull, they’re not ‘scenecore’ or whatever the fuck name you can come up with to try and dis them. Go listen to Deflorate when it comes out and tell me there is any ‘core’ to that you fucking old prick.

Zilty’s right that it doesn’t matter who you tour with… but he’s dead fucking wrong about them being scene just because scene kids like them. Sure, they were influenced by SotS, but honestly, do you REALLY see much of SotS on ANY of their albums?? SotS had very groove oriented riffs that focused far less on technicality than their previous albums, and while I do love the album, most of the songs were pretty cut and dry. I can name probably 10 BDM songs off the top of my head that are more technical, faster and darker than any song off SotS…. for fuck’s sake, show me a song on any At The Gates album that discusses turning into a fucking werewolf and killing women and children (ala “The Blackest Incarnation”)… oh wait, there isn’t one… and oh wait, what bands do concepts like that remind me of… oh that’s right all the bands you listed before, especially the glaring omission on your blatant name drop occasion of fucking CARCASS.

Seriously, dude, I think you have a lot of good opinions and your elitism kills me sometimes in a good way, but cut the fucking pretension and realize that just because kids that like deathcore dig BDM doesn’t mean BDM themselves are deathcore (or br00t1l shitcore as you would call it). Actually go back and listen to Unhallowed and rid yourself of preconceived notions and you’ll see what i’m talking about.

I saw him at Pittsburgh and pretty much the same thing happened, more and more people left as the set progressed. I was disappointed because I used to have a lot of respect for the guy and what he did, not so much music-wise, but he really did have a message at one point. Both me and my friend, who feels the same, almost got disgusted with Manson as the night went on. He really needs to get his shit together if he wants to retain ANYTHING he once had.
