STEPHEN MAWSHING

Monday, August 17th, 2009 at 10:00am by Vince Neilstein

This could be considered borderline offensive… but fuck it. Just when you thought you’d seen it all… wheelchair circlepit moshing to Cannibal fucking Corpse at the Rockstar Mayhem Festival.

Cheers to this guy for keeping it brutal, and to the rest of the moshpit denizens for their support. Only in heavy fucking metal. This is why I love it.

Thanks to MS Maniac Geoff H. for sending in (and presumably filming) this clip.

This is both the most terrible, and awesome thing I’ve seen in a long time.

You know this dude fucking lives through metal. There is nothing remotely offensive about this.

  5. I think he was really just trying to run over the feet of the kids wearing those nu-metal pants.

  6. not really only in metal good game though.

i went to go see a ska band called big d and the kids table a few days ago and a guy in a wheel chair wheeled him self down the hill at the gorge, then was wheeling around the skanking pit and circle pitting with us during the punk moments. we then proceeded to lift him above our heads. only in ska i guess

Wow, I’m amazed !! You didn’t even bother to tell us that Cannibal Corpse sucks, just like everything else you’re not the only person on earth to listen to…

    METALL \m/

  13. it’s cool that people were giving him space to do his thing as opposed to running into him and knocking him over

    metalheads are the best

    • Sammy says:

For all the grief metalheads get for being idiots or assholes, almost every moshpit I’ve ever witnessed or been a part of has had its own etiquette. If someone falls, there’s always a hand to help him/her up. An errant push that catches someone wrong is brushed off with a “no problem” if the pusher throws in a quick “sorry”. Yeah, the occasional out-of-his-mind loaded asshole is at every show, but that comes with the territory.

  14. dr.j says:

he is taking up so much room what a selfish jerk

  18. Mike2 says:

i am proud of seeing a metalhead who doesn’t let his disability run over his passion. I am damn proud.

  19. Kaley says:

Mad props! I’m glad he was having fun. I remember when I was in a wheelchair (cause imma sissy and crutches hurt/LONG distances from class to class) I wouldn’t of dared braving the pit in it!

    I did meet a lot of cool people though… Me+wheelchair = social

  20. Marcos says:
